PS3HEN [Tutorial] [PS3HEN] The Great Ps3 HEN All in One Guide

Too much? Then what should I say, my Ps3 wireless board works just for a few seconds only powering on the console after it has been unplugged from the power for an hour...

Hi there, could you please upload the PS Classics templates again? I don't know why you deleted them from the obsolete HAN guide. Now I can't find a PIC0 to use when creating my PSX game PKGs, I can only find a PIC0 for PS2 games. Please...

Part Three - Homebrew
Here i will be going over some homebrew applications and backup managers that have specific HEN related fixes

  • WebMAN MOD had some issues with HEN early on and continued to plague users with black screens.
The earliest version that fixed these HEN issues is 1.47.23

    1. Download the latest Webman MOD from HERE

    2. Copy 'webMAN_MOD_1.xx.xx_Installer.pkg' to the packages folder on your USB flash drive.
    3. Insert into right most USB port on Ps3
    4. Navigate to 'Game/Package Manager/Install Package Files/Package Directory'
    5. Select 'webMAN_MOD_1.xx.xx_Installer.pkg' and install
    6. Once complete you will have a new icon for webMAN MOD installer.
    7. Hold down 'L1' and select the installer.
    8. Keep 'L1' held until the console reboots.
    9. WebMAN Mod is now installed.
    10. Enabling HEN will now enable webMAN MOD as well.

I'm stuck at this part, as WebMAN is not being detected by my PS3.

after installing the webman pkg file, run the icon one time while holding fown L1 until ps3 restarts. webman should lauch automatically at startup after that. (the pkg actually installs an installer. the installer must then be run.)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but should I really connect to PSN AFTER installing HFW? Do I not risk a ban that way? Could I not activate my PS3 before installing HFW?

Hello mate. There is always a risk, however small, when connecting to PSN with a modified console. It is best to activate the system in OFW or HFW, before installing HEN. Cheers
PS: I activated my console after installing HEN, and had no problems!

None of the automatic tools are working to install HEN on my PS3, so now I'm trying the "1.B HEN Installation Method 2" to do it manually. The HFW is installed, the first part, the HAN support files are installed, now I just need to get HEN installed. But the site I'm directed to for this step ( .me/hen/rewrite/han_flash_mount_rewrite.html ) just gives me a 404 error.

Does anyone know where I could find another mirror? Or have any tips for getting HEN on a CECH-4201 SuperSlim?

Why don't you try method 3

Place PS3HEN.BIN on usb000
Run /html/ps3hen_usb000.html
HEN package will be downloaded and installed automatically[
Reboot PS3

I want to play a game over 4 gb, I used a tutorial on YouTube named "Split PS3 Games to Fit on FAT32 External Hard Drives for CFW PS3" but it did not work. I don't know if there is a different way to do it for hen or if I am doing something wrong.

best thing to do is install multiman:
https://store.brewology.com/get/homebrew.php?id=24&fid=2200
if you format your HDD/USB stick in NTFS and put your unsplit game on there you can start multiman in "multiman mode",start PFS driver and you can then copy/paste into the appropriate folder using the browser.
There's plenty of other good file managers/game launchers like Irisman, webMAN,Managunz etc but i suggest this one as i can confirm it's working well on 4.90HFW

Hello, some years ago I modified my PS3 superslim with hen and it has the official firmware 4.82.
After so many years I pratically remember nothing about what I could do and can't.
Should I follow the guide on the first page and update again?
Also I was wondering, is the guide fully updated? I asked because apparently the latest firmware version is 4.90 while linked HFW is the 4.86.1

Thank you.

Thank you.
hfw and hen installation sections are out of date. there is no need to install ofw first and only install hfw once. here is my pup install guide if needed. here is my hen install guide covering new methods.

section 3 onwards are probably mostly good. BTW use only this version of multiman. it is signed for hen.

"You must run the placeholder without a mounted ISO so that your Ps3 controllers can connect wirelessly<-IMPORTANT STEP"

Do I need to do this every time I mount a PS2 ISO when I turn on the console? Or just once after installing PS2 Classics Placeholder?

You have to resync the controller after the PS2Logo it loses sync once it flicks into PS2 mode/Emulator, if you press the Home button it should constantly display the battery charge like the screenshot / video screen on the ps4 does, it's useful for charging the controllers from usb, I wish the xmb could do the same instead of just briefly whilst it's connected.
