It may dumb, but...
Is there a way to check if Java script has been turned on while entering settings?

I have notice that after fresh installing webMAN MOD v1.47.30,
if I save settings while java script has been turned off -> reboot.
I will not receive notification what version of webMAN MOD that I'm using,
I will not be able to enter settings.

At least not with plugged in USB device.

webMAN MOD uses a lot of javascript, it is not recommended to turn it off.

There is a HTML tag <noscript> that can be used to show messages when javascript is not available. Example:
https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_noscript.asp

In ps3devwiki, the following example gets the javascript status from the registry:
xsetting_CC56EB2D()->DoUnk16_GetRegistryValue(0,0x2A, &v);return v;

Works for me:

Is there any dependency between saving\loading settings and USB device?

I don't know if my flash-drive is not fully supported, but...
If I will change language from PL to EN, some of my settings are still in PL, not in EN.

I have try to reboot PS3 few times, but it didn't help.

After I will unplug USB device, reboot PS3, everything seems to be fine.

BTW I have try to add additional delay for USB device, but it also did not help.

Can you be more precise?

Which option do not work:
- Refresh My Games & XMB
- Refresh My Games
- Refresh Web Games List

I didn't try this version but webMAN MOD always froze my PS3 even before installing other backup managers and even after uninstalling it and formatting the PS3 on the XMB.

@aldostools A quick question about the update function in the wMM XMB menu: is it the same as downloading and installing the latest commited .pkg from the GitHub repo? As in, does it come from the same source and is the result the same whichever way it's done? Probably a pointless question, but I was wondering about it the other day and I'm just interested :)

I generally download the latest .pkg from GitHub every once in a while to keep in dev_hdd0/packages as a backup :)

i think the builtin updater just downloads sprx from github.

No. It downloads a smaller PKG, not a sprx.
The PKG is downloaded from aldostools.org, not from github due the SSL limitation.

Normally (with rare exceptions) when I update the package in Github, I update it in aldostools.org and in Brewology too.

The main difference between both installers is that update from XMB only needs a manual reboot after download, while the full installer reboots automatically after execute it.

The XMB updater is like an incremental update. It only downloads some files recently updated, not the full installation.

Hello. I have a problem with WebMan mod 1.47.30. I was using an old version (.27 I think) and then I updated to 1.47.30 and my ps3 freezes on startup and later get the check filesystem message. When it finished I get random freezes and the ntfs external disk compatibility is broken (the ntfs disk is detected but all games freezes) so I have to uninstall webman and reinstall cfw pup to get all working again.
I have repeated the steps and I'm 100% sure that Webman mod 1.47.30 causes it. If I install 1.47.27 all works without problems
I have Rebug 4.86

Hello. I have a problem with WebMan mod 1.47.30... and my ps3 freezes on startup... I have Rebug 4.86
i have the same problem

I also use Rebug Lite 4.86, but I don't get the aforementioned issue.

I suggest that try changing the system language to English (if you use a different language) and do a clean install without any USB device attached.

After installation it is suggested to turn off the scan for new content at start up.

Maybe another user that have experienced the same issue could give some feedback if found a workaround.

I think that I also had this problem.
After uninstalling old version (probably 1.47.28 - don't remember which commit).
Installing new 1.47.30 something went wrong.

My PS3 start to report that file system may be corrupted.
After "hitting" OK button, my console start to boot in infinite loop at this screen:
loop.png

I decided to start console in Recovery mode...

Unfortunately instead of selecting "Restore File System",
I choose "Restore PS3 System".

After formatting HDD, installing webMAN MOD 1.47.30 everything was fine.
At first I though that my HDD was corrupted (bad block or something)...
Anyway... more info:
- Rebug 4.86.1 LITE
- CECH-2004A

Thank you for your feedback. It probably was some corrupted file or a bad block like you mentioned.
If the issue was the plugin, it would continue causing issues after the system restore.

I can hook up my HDD into PC to check if there are any bad block(s) on it.
One thing that wonders me.
When I will do it, does OS (Win) will ask me to format my HDD, create partition?
I don't remember but normally PS3 file system is not supported in other OS...

Yes, Windows will ask to format your HDD. You should answer NO.

Is there any app that you prefer for that test?
Normally I'm using HD Tune 2.55 \Pro 5.75 for that.

EDIT: No error(s):

Well at least that confirms that it was not a bad sectors.
IDK what could be cause the freeze, and why it worked fine after the system restore. IMO if it is a bug, it should not work even after the system restore.
