PS3 Updated My PS3 to HFW 4.93, no more HEN

So as the title says, I updated my CECH3004B to HFW 4.93, but after doing so, I do not have HEN any longer. I tried every single step i could find on the interwebs and watched every YouTube video but nothing is helping. Basically when I open up ps3xploit.me and select Hen auto installer or any other option, i get the install page. When I click the button, nothing happens. I tried this a number of times.

I re-installed the firmware. I then also installed it via Safe Mode.
I cleared cookies and actioned browser suggestions.

Nothing helps. How else can I get HEN installed?
 
all these files are from official sources.

grab this file. rename it HEN_UPD.pkg and place in root of usb drive. (fat32, mbr)

grab this file (click view raw after github loads). rename it PS3HEN.BIN and put it with the other file on usb.

put the usb in the port closest to disc drive.

open ps3 browser and open the following my page from my website.

it should enable hen and install the pkg file found on usb.

thank you for the steps. I followed them as per instruction - I just get a blank white screen when i try to open up the page. I did do all the browser steps before and after as well- clear cache, cookies, etc.
 
very strange. web pages get stuck or do nothing? if hfw wasn't installed, it would say "NaN" when it fails.

i've had stange problems installing hen before that were due to failing hard drives. you can test that by swapping to a spare hdd. it will be formatted by the ps3 of course. you can put the old drive back in when done and it will work same as before.
 
I really hope it is not the case, but will test with another drive.

What will happen if i install a lower version of HFW. I am thinking of testing a different version. Will it downgrade, or will I risk bricking the unit?

HFW is OFW with an exploitable module reintroduced. You can't downgrade, only reinstall same version or newer.

darn - then if its not the hard drive, I cant do anything until a new version is released?

I have tried both installing via safe mode, and normal install - still same issue as well. Still battle with getting HEN installed.

can i install OFW (will it need tobe 4.93, then install HFW after that?
