PS3HEN [UPDATES]Post your favorite cfw patches!

I think habib just said no more fake flash though..

Xml changes I'm not sure if I will add because I removed the whole fake flash concept. My IDA powers allowed me to crack appldr properly and now I can do on the fly patching

/vsh/resource/explore/xmb could still be redirected to HDD for easy modding.
Also the user on OFW would not have stuff that are only intended for PS3HEN :)

we can just apply xml mods like download_list.xml mod directly to real flash, there is no downside really?

True, but I like the concept of a fake flash even for CFW users.
At least it would be nice to have the option if the folder exists in USB or HDD (this one would require a way to disable it through Rebuild DB on CFW).

This feature would save the modders from some semi-bricks or full-bricks :)

true, xmls from hdd would be cool, even in dev_hdd0/game/xxxxxxxx so normal pkgs could update xmb.

tbh i would like to see that on cfw too. :)

Block system updates via rco maybe? either just online updates, or all XMB updates.

A disc with higher than 4.84 might still offer update, untested, obviously. :)
Yes and this could be included in officiel hen rar archive to prevent update when ofw 4.85 or 4.86 release

lol, was just typing same thing.

@habib
I have a question for you, after I bricked my console last night (I could recover it thanks to Rebuild Database):

You know that when you select Rebuild Database from Recovery Menu, the console reboots and ask for confirmation, but there is not option to cancel (only X or power off).

If I press X, it starts the Rebuild Database, that cannot be canceled.
If I power off the console, when I turn it on it asks for Rebuild Database again.

The question is: Could we delete "/dev_hdd0/mms/db.err", BOOT_PLUGINS_KERNEL_FILE and BOOT_PLUGINS_FILE before the system prompts for confirmation? So if we turn off the console, it don't ask again for rebuild the database when we turn it on?

BTW I see you delete these files in different ways on Cobra & non-Cobra modes.

Now we should think about a method creating FW version in coreOS to fake the SYSCON
that this version is same as actual or higher to avoid the blackscreen at boot after flash ,cause you know $ONY will not watch and be quite they will take action ,If it does not already start on the day Hybdrid firmware appeared
so we should think about a method to 4.84 the downgrade can be done but SYSCON will not let lower firmware to be flashed and succeffuly boots so i think of changin fw version in coreOS so if 4.85 OFW appear we take 7mb content file (coreOS.BIN) from OFW 4.84 edit it and change it to 4.85 or 4.86 (we know syscon will accept actual ver or higher ) and we see ,i don't have idea if metldr2 will interfere ? What you think about !

Spoofing will not be hard, I would not worry about it. We can not mess with CoreOS and we dont need to.

Yes i know that spoof is not hard but i think just upgrading the firmawre version 00X.XX00 into the coreOS and flash it using hardware flasher so the syscon will accept cause it is higher then the actual fw version

No, I don't know what you mean..why mess with coreos, we have CFW features on all consoles now, is that not enough. lol.

i think you didn't understand me i am talking about going back to 4.84 when new OFW released with hen exploit fix or even hfw fix cause we can flash lower firmware to ps3 but syscon will interfere and block boot to blackscreen it only accept same actual version or higher

i am talkin about futur downgrade to 4.84 if new OFW get live
