PS3 Updating Rogero 4.40 CFW to Evilnat 4.92.2?

Hello,

Apologies if this is a repeated question, I am very new to the CFW Scene.

I bought a PS3 years ago that already had CFW on it, I haven't used in years and I thought it would be fun to get it back up and running.

I'm on Rogero's CFW 4.40 but have no idea of how that got there or the differences with a more modern firmware.
I thought I would update to the latest Evilnat firmware, and from whatever little I've read it seems it might be as simple and easy as copying the update onto a USB drive, plugging it into the PS3 and run an update from the home menu.

Is this right? And if so, is it worth it?
I would really appreciate any kind of wisdom on the matter.

Thank you so much in advance.

Yes, since you're already on CFW, your console's NAND/NOR memory should already be patched, so you should be able to simply put Evilnat 4.92 on a flash drive at PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP then run the update from the XMB menu. This is what I do to all my jailbroken PS3s, and I've been doing it every time there's a new update, ever since I started back in the day with Rebug 4.84.
