Upgrading from HFW+HEN to CFW

Since the new BgToolset 1.1 has finally launched, I'd like to try update from my HFW 4.87.1 + HEN 3.0.2 to CFW. Can I do this by just running the tools to jailbreak and then install the CFW?
I'd appreciate some guidance.

Also, is Evilant's 4.87.2 the only CFW for the 4.87 firmware right now?

EDIT: Wait, I am stupid, I just remembered I went back yesterday from HFW -> OFW in order to reinstall the HFW.. so, I'll just revert to OFW and from there I know I can use BgToolset without issues.

EDIT: I am aware I can downgrade to a previous firmware now and therefore use other CFWs, but I'd like to stay on 4.87.

You can install CFW only if your PS3 model is compatible with CFW
To find it... the easyest way is to enter in the BGtoolset page and check the infos, is mentioned explicitelly
After that check... turn OFF the PS3 and return to the forum to learn about the next steps :D

That check i mentioned is completly safe because the BGtoolset is not writing anything to your PS3 while doing it
 
Thank you for helping me out so many times! I did check :) I have a very old model, I think (CECHC04).. The BgToolset page mentions I can go as low as 1.0 firmware :).

I have just patched my console using MrMario's tutorial for 4.86 (which was recommended to me by @bguerville a while back) on YouTube (worked just as well for 4.87), yay! But now, I can't install Evilnat's CFW since it says I already have the latest update :( .. this is weird.. any hints would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: steps I took to go from HFW+HEN to Jailbreak:
1. Installed OFW two times, as suggested in a comment to MrMario's HEN uninstallation guide
2. Patched flash to allow for CFW as suggested in MrMario's jailbreaking guide
3. .. This step would have been installing Evilnat's 4.78.2 CFW, but for some reason I can't update to it via storage media since it says I already have the latest version.

Why is everyone in here so amazing.. thank you for taking so much time to help me, you and all the others who helped me. Updating from Safe Mode worked indeed ,as @Sulfvr also told me in another topic. I'm finally on CFW <3..

Looks like the fact that I didn't remove Webman when I uninstalled HEN actually caused it to reoccur and reactivate on its own after I installed Evilnat's CFW.. can I just let it be or should I reinstall it?
 
I guess webman stayed running because both have cobra (HEN and CFW), im not sure if the webman installation or his setup changes depending of the running HEN/CFW, wait a bit and im sure someone will answer that doubt soon
