Vga to hdmi compatibility problem in ps3 fat

Hello everyone, I have a Problem on my PS3 fat 4.82 Dex. I have a vga to hdmi adapter the problem is that it does not work on the ps3 while on my old ps3 slim it worked the same on my xbox 360 I have already tried to reinstall the video settings by holding the power button but it still did not work. Who could help me
