webMAN Classics Maker

PS3 webMan Classics Maker: Launch ISOs straight from XMB 3.0.0-beta3

Hi guys. First off I wanted to say sorry for my absence in this thread, don't forget that I love you all!
I just had too much going on lately (mostly good stuff) and I didn't feel the drive for the project.
When I do decide to pick up some development time again I will look into bugs that has been reported.

I noticed one thing from a dev perspective: naturally you only hear about stuff not working and not the other way around. I'm not sure I have users who managed to use this tool on their machines :)

Anyway, my daughter wanted to play Lego Harry Potter with me the other day and I could only see that it was released on disc media, so a webMan classics maker forwarder it was!

jacobsson updated WebMan Classics Maker with a new update entry:

Fixed the "Cannot create a file when that file already exists" error

I have seen reports of users getting an that says "Cannot create a file when that file already exists". For this was never showing up on my dev PCs.
Since I am setting up a new computer the other day with a fresh install of Windows I figured I could make a test build, sure enought I got the same error.

It is now fixed in version 2.2.1 and hope that some of still want to test it out :)

Read the rest of this update entry...

I keep getting a "Execution of 'resign_eboot.py': FAILED" error when trying to build game pkgs.

Any way I can fix this?

Hi Chriz. I think the resigner looks for a path with the folder name of webman classics maker that might not be compatible. What is your full path to your webman classics maker folder? I'd try remove any spaces in that folder name to see if that helps.
Your information would help me fix this in a future update, much appreciated!

I fixed it. I removed the spaces in my folder name and that did it. Thanks!

Hello there, first of all, thank you very much for this amazing project!

Now, I don't really know if this's been asked before but searched and found nothing. For reference, I use PS3HEN and WebMan Mod Full installed with the correct PSP Launcher and PS2 Launcher and all my games are in the internal HDD. When I create a pkg for a PS3 game, it works great, the ISO gets mounted and then launched automatically. My problem is with both PSP and PS2, here are the details:

- If I create any PS2 pkg, it mounts the BIN.ENC perfectly and then the cursor goes all the way up on XMB (to PS Vita System Application Utility), opens it and stays there, the game does not automatically launch.

- If I create any PSP pkg, after opening it, it goes back to XMB and tries to open again, repeating this process indefinitely. The ISO never gets mounted and the game never plays.

I'm sorry if it's not enough information to debug the issue, I tried changing the way Webman organizes its contents (Inside Webman Games and grouped, outside and gropued, and also inside and outside both ungrouped), and also tried changing the way XML groups content with no luck.

@felixsrg Hi, thank you for the feedback! I actually never tried HEN (I'm thinking of getting a Super-slim for this).

It sounds like HEN might have a different menu layout vs CFW (don't quote me on that though) or HEN version of webMan isn't compatible with manual webcommands (which I'm using for the procedure of mount and play).

1. What version of webMan do you use? (Latest can be found here)
2. Did you ever managed to have a game mount and play automatically or it always stuck up in that part of the menu?
3. If the answer is "No" on 2.: Does it at least mount the image?

Yeah, it actually looks like HEN might have a different layout, I think it is compatible with the webcommands.

1. I'm using the latest one, 1.47.35.
2. PS3 ISOs mount and play automatically, PS2 .BIN.ENC only mount but not play automatically, PSP ISOs don't mount and don't play.

PS2 .BIN.ENC and PSP ISOs do not play automatically because they require to be launched through one of their respective launchers,

PS2 ISO should play automatically on CFW only (HEN only support PS2 Classics).

I see now, thank you very much for the confirmation.

Maybe any information as to why the PSP ones created with this program don't even mount the ISO but keep opening and returning to XMB indefinitely?

@jacobson could have an answer... I don't use this tool (I don't use much the PS3 LOL)

In the case of PS2 .BIN.ENC and PSP ISO, it is recommended to add the launchers to the folders (there are 2 options for that in /setup.ps3). When these games are mounted, the cursor is moved automatically to the launcher and the game is auto-played if the option is selected (or holding X)

Hi I looked at the release notes for this feature and I did these steps:
PSP-ISO support:

You could these steps to see if it behaves?

@aldostools I appreciate your info and support, have a great day!

Hi, thanks for the answer you both.

I did the steps, installed the launcher and made sure "Show PSP launcher" in Webman-mod Settings was enabled but the problem still persists.

Hm. Regarding PSP games not working, this might have to do with how HEN menu layout works, unfortunately I can't really test this since I don't have a HEN PS3. From Aldos suggestion did you get PS2 games to work?

That's a shame, but I really appreciate your time to answer me.

About the PS2 games, it worked, the cursor automatically moves over the PS2 launcher and if I hold X, the game auto loads.

thank you very much for the tool! I love it!

I have noticed two bugs though, where one of them I could fix myself:

(1)
I created a forwarder for a folder game. it was found in the app via ftp and it installed through the app to the playstation.
the problem is that the path is set incorrectly. after pressing the forwarder, an error message appears that this path/game does not exist.

both paths in "launch.txt" and "url.txt" were wrong!

instead of:
/wait.ps3?xmb;/mount_ps3/dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES00510-[God of War III]/BCES00510-[God of War III];/wait.ps3?4;/play.ps3
I corrected it to:
/wait.ps3?xmb;/mount_ps3/dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES00510-[God of War III];/wait.ps3?4;/play.ps3

and

instead of:
GET /wait.ps3%3Fxmb;/mount_ps3/dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES00510-[God%20of%20War%20III];/BCES00510-[God%20of%20War%20III];/wait.ps3%3F4;/play.ps3 HTTP/1.0
I corrected it to:
GET /wait.ps3%3Fxmb;/mount_ps3/dev_hdd0/GAMES/BCES00510-[God%20of%20War%20III];/wait.ps3%3F4;/play.ps3 HTTP/1.0

-> basically the folder was listed twice in the path here, after those edits the game started without problems :) creating forwarders for PS2 ISO's is working fine, tried two there too

(2)
for this one I'm not sure if its a bug in web man classics maker... for the created game folder forwarder mentioned above the game title and the information in the xmb disappear immediately after the image PIC1.PNG is loaded...
all other games are normal and even with the created PS2 ISO forwarder this does not happen... I hope you understand what I mean
i have created a short gif for this so you can see it: https://imgur.com/iknJn94

what could it be? the game title is already not displayed in the preview when creating the forwarder in webman classics maker, is there a way to fix that? https://i.imgur.com/9ZtF7dh.png

Maybe you can help me and fix the first bug in the next version! Thank you again!
