PS3 webMAN MOD cover art for ROMs

RetroRevival

Forum Noob
Hi,

I have webMAN MOD 1.47.46 installed on a PS3 with EvilNAT 4.90 CEX and RetroArch CE Beta 4 installed. RetroArch is working well, and I've installed the various cores, ROMs and thumbnails. Artwork is showing properly in RetroArch.

I've configured webMAN MOD to scan the /ROMS folder, and the content shows in the webMAN interface. What I can't seem to figure out is if it's possible to show the RetroArch thumbnail artwork within the webMAN interface. Currently webMAN just shows a standard RetroArch icon beside each ROM title, and when selected for launch I only see the standard disc icon in the XMB.

I've tried putting a copy of the RetroArch .PNG artwork in various places including the same directory as the ROM itself, the /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers_retro/snes directory (and other subs there) and /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp.

The GitHub page for webMAN MOD states:

Covers & Media Files
Since version 1.47.27 the ROMS support the display of the following custom media files when mounted:
The current covers of ROMS in PNG format will be used as ICON0.PNG (JPG will show the default icon)
<rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.png or <rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.PNG
<rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.PIC1.PNG will be used as screen background (HD)
<rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.PIC0.PNG will be used as screen background (SD)
<rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.SND0.AT3 will be used background music on XMB
<rom-full-path-without-file-extension>.ICON1.PAM will be used animated icon

Which makes me think it should be possible to do something with cover art, but I cannot seem to figure it out. Can anyone provide an example of something that is working? For example I don't know how to name the files as shown in the GitHub since the paths would contain slashes which I think isn't allowed, or even where to put the file once I figure out the naming.

Any help would be appreciated!

Alright so I can see now that if I place a .PNG file with the same name as the ROM, in the same directory as the ROM, it will show up as a thumbnail in webMAN MOD, so that's pretty cool. Not sure why I couldn't get that working prior to posting for help, but obviously I was doing something wrong.

So three follow-up questions,

1. Is any configuration that can be done to point webMAN to the existing Retroarch artwork rather than having to duplicate all of the files in the associated ROM directory?

2. Is there a way to change the ROM folder icons in webMAN?

3. I'm still not understanding the Covers & Media Files section in the Github repo noted in my first post. I expect that if I did, I could probably place some files somewhere so that when a particular ROM was selected I would see artwork rather than the default disc icon.

Any guidance on any of these questions would be amazing! Thanks!
