webMAN MOD

PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

looks like version 1.43.16 is still on github. compiled today and it wasnt 1.43.18

The build 1.43.18 is already obsolete :)

Here is the build 1.43.19
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webMAN_MOD_1.43.19_Updater.pkg

This build fixes a regression in the detection of firmware version (the bug is present in 1.43.18). It causes the fan control and other features to stop working properly.
So it's highly suggested to update to this version if you're using 1.43.18

The new feature in this build is that it has a *partial* port of the ps3netsvr for the PS3. Now people with multiple PS3 consoles should be able to share their games among them. The feature is not fully tested, but in my quick tests the PS3 and PSX ISOs worked fine.

The ps3netsvr service running on the PS3 has certain limitations:
- Only ISOs are supported (PS3ISO, PSXISO, BDISO, DVDISO). Support for multi-part ISOs will be added later.
- File copy is supported (e.g. videos, pkg, music, etc.)
- A maximum of 3 net clients are supported.
- Games in JB folders (GAMES or GAMEZ) are not supported, and I do not have plans to add virtual ISO.
- The games stored in different the devices are listed in merged folders (e.g. /net0/PS3ISO will list the files from /dev_hdd0, /dev_usb000, /dev_usb001, /dev_ms, etc.)
- NTFS devices are not supported.

Another feature is addition for the support for up to 5 net servers (/net0, /net1, /net2, /net3, /net4)

These /netsvr features are available only in the full version, due the amount of memory required.

Here is the latest version:

The XML files have been modified to show XMBM+ in both CEX & DEX, however you may not need to use them if you only use CEX.

Thank you very much! Can i ask where you got this so i can be able to stay up-to-date as well?
You can't get it anymore from its original release site. It was taken down.
Moreover it has not been updated in a while & I don't think anyone plans to... For now anyway..
So keep a copy safe.

So can we now launch concurrent psxiso's?

... and if youre currently serving ure unable to power off your PS3... even unplugging doesn't work ! :old:
(Else you could be held responsible for some murder taking place)

Who should I thank for the Raspberry pi port? Is that you Rudi?
Nice one in any case.
Are all features ported btw?

Sorry but I didn't understand what you mean :(

Yes. It was Rudi.
yes. All the features are ported to Raspberry. Including the support for split ISOs that I implemented.

Does anyone believe that ?

Do you mean that if ps3netsvr version for PS3 is running you can't turn off your console? And that it even can't turn off unplugging it?

To be honest I still don't understand... specially the part about "murder" someone (is that me?).... Without a full understanding of the issue really I can't help.

i think rudi was being sarcastic about the ps3 not powering of, when serving, even if unplugged. though it would be pretty cool if you could keep the console from powering off while serving. that way if someone on console A is playing a game from console B, then console A cannot be powered off.

Imagine you're sitting in your living room playing whatever on your ps3 while your wife is laying in the bath playing some sims 3 served from your ps3.
Now u power off ! I bet u should better run... (in best case your neigbourhood will have some fun watching u running followed by an angry but naked wife ;))

:embarrassed: Aaaaah now I understand the joke :p I'm retarded understanding jokes in foreign languages :tomato:

No. Let say you have 2 ps3 consoles (one in the bathroom and another in the kitchen)... you can play the ISOs stored in devices of the ps3 in the kitchen, from the ps3 in the bathroom :)

Could you please explain how to do this I cannot work it out at all I have to ps3,s both rebug 4.76 running cobra and webman1.43.19 with alot of iso's saved on one so would be great if I could just play them on the other via a network

Thanx Aldostools for the Addition for 5 Net Servers really appreciated.

Regards

aldostools , am I right to assume that a Refresh XML on console A would detect automatically the games served by console B on the same network as long as the server runs on it.
Have not yet had time to try 1.43.19 hence the question...

1. Install the FULL version of webMAN MOD 1.43.19 (webftp_server_full.sprx) on the PS3 that will act as server.
2. Both consoles must be in the same network and port 38008 must be open in the firewall.
3. Go to /setup.ps3 of the PS3 that will act as client and enter the IP address of the PS3 console that will act as PS3 server. Also put the check mark next to the field to enable the server.
4. Make sure that your ISOs are not split (I'm still working on adding support .iso.0)
5. Use Refresh HTML or Refresh XML, select the game and mount the /net game as you normally do when using the PC as server. You can also use the file manager to mount the game.
6. Start the game, play and enjoy it!
