webMAN MOD

PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

Since you can set fan speed in the CFW options and WebMan Mod, which setting actually applies?
Also is there a possibility for SYSCON control in PS2 games in WebMan Mod?

webMAN MOD sets the fan speed to manual mode with the % value specified in /setup.ps3

SYSCON is not an option for PS2 mode. Indeed it is not recommended due the high CPU consumption of the ps2 emulator.

Thanks for the infos :) i have another question about fan control. What does "Auto #2" do?

Thanks for the info. I ask now specifically because i got a PS3 with BC that still works and i know these are fragile due to the manufacturing defect of the 90nm RSX.
I already cleaned and repasted it but the CPU refuses to stay under 75C even with just the XMB open while the GPU is in the mid 50s. With Syscon control that is.

The other thing that i find hard to gage is the best fan speed for PS2 games. In this case with gxemu mostly. Since i cant see the temperatures in this mode i can only take guesses from what kind of speed it runs at in PS3 mode.

My 2104B Slim only barely reaches 70C in Syscon fan mode while playing GTA V or GT6, making it a non issue there.

I found a small visual bug. When switching between emus with the shoulder buttons on a BC PS3 with ps2_gxemu it still says ps2_emu.self in the popup.

webMAN MOD displays "ps2_netemu.self enabled" or "ps2_emu.self enabled". For the case ps2_gxemu.self is the same as ps2_emu.self.

Hello, let me help you with your problem. I had the same problem and I didn't understand why after launching a ps2 game I couldn't launch anything anymore, you have to use a real official controller, as stupid as it may seem, you'll see you can restart your games.
Thanks Aldo for your great work !
Was this issue ever fixed?

Was this issue ever fixed?

You mean after launching a ps2 game webman stops to work? same here for a while, it says webman is not ready and i can access the internet anymore until i reboot my system.

Same thing even without webman installed ( i tried mounting the ps2 game, unistalling webman and launching the game) when i get back to xmb no internet connection lol.

Nat tried to reproduce this issue but no success.

@Evilnat After playing a PS2iso and returning to XMB, i can't connect to the internet anymore, the wifi led turns off and even going to Network Settings it gets stuck on Scaning Wi-Fi

I dunno if it is a known behavior but i never tested it on previous versions, only rebooting the system re-enables the wi-fi

Edit:
I can't use webMAN mod too, it says NOT READY!

I downgraded my system to 4.84, 4.88 and sames thing so i gave up and thought it was a issues only at my end

Edit:
Update webman to the latest version and see if it got fixed, Aldo fixed some lv2 patches on PEX/DEX, IDK if it is related but give it a shot, i can't try it now.

Hey guys!

Can someone help me? I started to play Metal Gear Solid for PS1 (putting the bin and cue file on PSX folder on the root of hdd) and the game have two discs, and guess what? I passed through the Sniper Wolf and the game asks to change the disc. I didn't remember that there's no save in that point, I thought we could save and exit the game, change the disc and continue. (a dumb false memory maybe? hahaha)

So and now what? There's a way to swap the disc?

I do a quick search on the forum and found some posts about 2018/2019 saying that we can unmount the game disc 1 and mount the game disc 2 using FTP on PC without exiting the game and continue playing, but i didn't understand very well how it works, someone can help me? And the posts are from 2018 and 2019, maybe there's another way, I don't know.

Thanks a lot!

Is it normal that my PlayStation doesn't ask me for installation of one games that support it? I thought there is supposed to be a prompt coming up asking for installation?
The game I'm trying this with is SOCOM II, which is on the list for installable PS2 games and I'm using a backwards compatible PS3 (gxemu)

Many multidisc games have save function before the process of swapping disc. MGS doesn't, you can burn the game discs on a backup and play the game via optical drive if you have cobra. It's the simplest way. However there should be a workaround such as creating a modified image file, or something else that you can trigger to make cobra swap the image file.

Is there a list of multidisc games that don't have save function? I only knew MGS, usually rpg have that function.
