PS3 webMAN MOD v1.47.01 - NEW Stable version with latest inclusions from Aldostools

After some testing builds where issues were introduced in the latest updates of webMAN MOD there has been some significant progress that has produced a new Stable release (v1.47.01) after some exciting new inclusions are added to the popular ps3 plugin that takes deank's webMAN (vanilla) plugin and adds a variety of additional features and functions. In some of the latest updates Aldostools has tinkered with deank's slaunch (since evolved into sMAN) and has some modifications that differs from the approach in deank's sMAN, There has been alot of development of this plugin lately by developer aldostools and some regressions did arise while implementing some of these latest additions, but all has fixed., The developer recommends anyone that was using the various v1.46.xx - v1.47.00 builds/commits to update to v1.47.01 which is consider a much more STABLE build.

I don't see what is the problem in your picture if you don't provide other references, like file name of the iso, real location of the covers, settings used in /setup.ps3, etc.

There is not an option to hide the path on XML... If you don't need it, you can compile your own build excluding that info from game_xml.h. Look for the sprintf lines with XML_PAIR("info","%s%s%s").

aldostools Im sorry a see now i can create own cover for games, thought before that "cover not available" is a error

not to add more stuff ....but whenever i modify, add/delete a file from a game's update folder in /hdd0/game or in the actual back folder in hdd0/GAMES I have to do a refresh xml otherwise as before , my ps3 locks up. I also changed a small file to the backed up game and when I went into multiman after i ftp it, mM locked up. im on rebug 4.81.02 / 7.52 cex...and I don't have anything running except cobra and wMM.. and I just froze coming out of multiman too.. it seems that all of this works great, as long as you don't modify any files and if you do sometimes prepNTFS didn't work or the sMAN refresh ...it had to be refresh XML and reboot.

As deank said, you can't have sMAN & wMM running at the same time.

However, if you generate the file "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/slist.bin" with wMM 1.47.01 (just need to refresh XML), you can downgrade the plugin after the file is generated and use sLaunch 1.07 with any previous version of webMAN (vanilla) or webMAN MOD (any edition).

sLaunch MOD 1.07 is a standalone GUI that has most of the features of sMAN 1.07, plus some extra features (e.g. support larger paths, favorites, filter per device (R2+SQUARE), customizable backgrounds per game type, support for sub-folders, activate with START button or L2+R2, toggle gameDATA is available in the side menu).

great info thanks @aldostools . but once I do that , do I install the older version of wMM right over 1.47.01? or do I have to do the uninstall via the web browser and delete the folder thats in hdd0/game and all that?

also if I do this, and the webman vanilla thats in rebug is 1.44 or 1.45 , would I need to install a wMM that is 1.44/1.45 to match or higher or it doesn't matter ? for example if 1.44 is in rebug can I use a wMM that is 1.43.xx?

thanks again aldo and @deank for the info... basically I want to get to a simpler wMM and use either dean's or your version of sLAUNCH 1.07

Just install any version of wMM over 1.47,01 without uninstall it... remember to refresh XML to avoid freeze your console (if you refreshed the XML with 1.47.01 the items will have reference to eula_cddb_plugin, but the file is not redirected to the proxy in the earlier builds)

The plugin is unloaded completely, but as the plugin was closed without calling cobra, PS3MAPI believes that the plugin is still loaded.

This new build uses cobra_unload_vsh_plugin to unload the plugin.

To turn off the ps3, I have to hold the power button.
If I'm going to restart, I get the black screen and I have to hold the power button.
If I unload the menu plugin, and is shutdown or reboot, I have to hold the power button.
If I unload at PS3MAPI, ALL PERFECT

Thanks @aldostools ! going to try this! Oh is the slaunch.sprx thats in the plugin folder, is that the stand alone gui?

so if I have a freshly modded system that I just made ....and I just install webman vanilla 1.46n in the rebug toolbox to take the place of the one there, since its a brand new modded system, do I have to install wMM that is 1.46.xx or higher or can I install lets say a 1.45.xx version or 1.44.xx etc?

Thanks for the feedback... I will test it on the PS3 when I return to my home.

I just checked and there are already 2 files there.... slist.bin and slist1.bin do I need to make a new one and delete those are just leave them?

I can't download anything right now from github ...keep getting timed out errors...so when its up I will download a slightly older version and try it

slaunch.sprx is the GUI for webMAN developed by deank. I only have modified it slightly.

slist.bin is the list of games generated by webMAN MOD during refresh XML.

slist1.bin is the list of favorite games created by the user pressing START on the game list.

It is not necessary to delete these files. If these 2 files are generated, you can use sLaunch with older versions of webMAN or webMAN MOD.

wow thank you for all this great info and this will be my LAST question ...at least for today :)

I turned off webman in the toolbox and I cleared all the files in timp, the hdd0/game folder...xmlhost...etc I cleared out everything if I have webman 1.47n and I put it to launch from the plugins folder...I know it will work...but after I do that and it installs , can I then install wMM like normal? and does the version of wMM matter?

because then I will be running wM1.47n and slaunch 1.07 from the hdd0 with an older version of wMM which will be EXACTLY what im looking for !

sLaunch MOD 1.07 can be used with webMAN or webMAN MOD (any version), but not with both at the same time. But only you can generate the slist.bin with webMAN MOD 1.47.01

You have to choose between webMAN, sMAN or webMAN MOD.

ONLY ONE of these 3 managers can be running at a time, because they use the same commands, ports, etc.

Ok sorry I know i said that was the last question but for real this will be :) ...

wMM must have wM installed and running to operate? there isn't a way for wMM to run without wM being "on" right?

WebMAN-MOD and webMAN are different and can't be run at the same time, rebug comes with webMAN-MOD installed and the toolbox enables and disables it. if you want to update webMAN-MOD then install the pkg and run it.

holy @#$!% well that explains alot! all this time I thought it was an add-on like an attachment to wM! and since the toolbox always says webman ...damn I feel dumb! ok I got it now! but you know , I know a lot of regular users think the same thing...

thanks guys!

@aldostools thanks one more time for this
Tested on D-REX 4.81.2 and approved a lot :)
sLaunch
PS3/PS2/PSX Internal OK
PS3 External NTFS OK
When I change games type page with "squarre" I got a Grey bar on top of screen ifor red game page All others pages/types are OK (no grey bar on top)
Online covers doesn't work for me in sLauch I got disc icons. works and show in My games on XMB and PS3 web browser HTML (wMM)

Would it be possible in futur to replace "BIP sound" at sLaunch startup by a text message indicates plugin startup ?

@aldostools Where can I download sLaunch MOD 1.07? and would be possible sLaunch MOD 1.07 to generate slist.bin without installing webMAN MOD 1.47.01? would be easier people just want use sLaunch MOD.

Hello, after installing webman mod 1.47.01 my ps3 has started booting with a blinking yellow light, then turns red & green and works as normal. I completely remove webman & I disabled it via toolbox and everything works as before.

Hello Drag,
I have uploaded a new build of sLaunch MOD 1.07 that allows to unload sLaunch and that doesn't freeze on restart/shutdown.

BTW if you press LEFT/RIGHT button on some options of the side menu (Triangle) you will get more options ;) (i.e. unload webMAN + VSH + sLaunch, disable syscalls or open file manager)

slist.bin is generated only by webMAN MOD 1.47.01. You can install it temporarily just to generate the slist, then install your webMAN edition of preference (wM vanilla or wMM any version).

I've replaced the sound at startup with a popup message (through webMAN's /popup.ps3) that only says "sLaunch MOD 1.07".

Only local covers can be displayed in sLaunch. Online covers would require to implement an internal http client like IRISMAN. The online covers show in My Games because the XMB already supports online media graphics to display ads and other content.

Regarding the "gray bar" on top of the screen, it should be that the red background image (or the previous one) is using too much memory and it is corrupting the heap memory. Try replacing the images in /dev_hdd0/plugins/images with the ones of your preference or simply delete them.

The blinking light should be caused by the scanning of content at startup. Try disabling the option in /setup.ps3, save & reboot.
