Weird ps3 cechb01 ps2 problem after rsx replacement

Hi y"all

I just bought a YLOD cechb01, replaced rsx from a donor board, reballed and everything is working perfectly except ps2 games. After the rsx replacement I installed ferrox 4.87 and ps2 games gave me black screen and the console just froze everytime I tried to launch isos or original DVD games, so i tried changing to ps2 netemu from webman's menu and ps2 isos worked like a charm, however, I want to use the ee/gs hardware for full backwards compatibility, so I installed evilnat 4.87.2 and webman, launched a ps2 iso, game booted just fine but after 15 minutes I got a full shutdown with 3 beeps and a blinking red light, restarted the console, launched ps2 iso again a and instant shutdown and a blinking red light, so I downgraded my console to rebug 4.85 and 4.82, installed rebug toolbox, toogled cobra on, used multiman an managunz to launch isos but all I have is a black screen, however the console didn't freeze this time because I can still access to the home settings menu, but all I have is a black screen and sometimes screen flickers, shows weird artifacts/colors (just once) and changes randomly to weird resolutions (only in ps2 games). I decided to replace the hdd, tried and AV composite cable, reflowed ee/gs chip on the board, formatted system, cleaned database from recovery, nothing, so I decided to upgrade to ofw 4.87 with a clean hdd and tried ps2 original disc, nothing, same solid black screen, however the controller syncs and as I said I can still access to settings menu, however this menu flickers and changes to unknown resolutions, tried another TV, different hdmi cable, etc, everything works perfectly (ps3 games, Ps1 games, Psp games, retroarch, ps2netemu, etc) but it just won't boot any ps2 iso/DVD thru Ps2emu.self (tried different games), also tried a different psu, nothing. Temps are perfectly fine (60c cell, 52 rsx on idle, 68c cell, 60 rsx on load - 30% fan speed). Now I know is a hardware issue, but just don't know where to start. Any thoughts/advices would be much appreciated, I think something just got fried that first time I booted a ps2 game on real hardware, console is not shutting down anymore but it just simply refuses to work with ee/gs hardware, all I have us just a solid black screen without freezing the console. Is the rsx married to the ee/gs chip? I don't think so because that first time launched the game before it froze. Thanks in advance for your help! Sorry for my bad English.

I think Ferrox has a problem with PS2 games. Try Evilnat 4.87.2.

Edit.: Sorry, I read the entire text now. I don't know what it could be.

Can you reball or replace that EE/GS? It could be reveal a milenary mistery.

I will try to find a donor board to take out the ee/gs and replace it on my system, I'm gonna need the stencil too in order to reball it. However, before that I will try to check every component around the ee/gs chip, I read something about a blown cap and a couple of dead fuses.

Nice. I'd try reballing it before replacing it though. That's something that happens when the CELL has bgas issues too. Well, at least my opinion.

If you're interested, there're a couple of threads that involves faults detections via syscon and rework stuff/talk.

Thanks for your time and tour reply. Can you suggest me where can I find the info about reading error codes thru syscon? I searched on this forum but I couldn't find any info about it. I can't reball the ee/gs because I wasn't able to find the stencil to do it, my last option is to reball by hand, but is too much for me right now. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'd do it by hand if you ask me :D

Better than waiting a stencil from China..

This is the thread: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/f...syscon-first-steps-and-error-reporting.30100/

There's a lot of research and there're a few users comparing info.
