4.21.2 Rebug D-REX Cobra 7.2 & 4.76.1 Rebug CEX Cobra 7.2

Now only reason I posted that is it seems the issue happened when I upgraded from Rebug 4.75.3 D-REX Cobra I didn't have this issue. Highly doubt its software but better to inform then to not. Anyhow I can't use two USB ports at once and to make it even more weird once I use say port 1 and want to swap devices I have to use port 2 to do so. One port will always register upon boot, port 1 or port 2 will always show a device or charge my pad. But I can't run two HDD/USB flash drives and I can't charge a pad and use a USB flash drive. It's driving me insane. Either port works if I initially use that port upon boot. Both never work at once but I can get the other port working if I alternate them when I swap but I can't say unplug my USB HDD with most of my movies then unplug it to insert a flash drive or charge my controller in the same port. But if I unplug my HDD say it was in port one the remove it and insert my USB flash drive into port two it detects right away. This makes no sense to me as both work if the right conditions are met. Anyone have any idea what to do? I have considered replacing the USB port but don't want to do anything unless I need to as I am a little lost.

the ps3's usb ports r pretty finicky. have u tried downgrading to see if the problem got corrected? I'm not sure if this will help, but the slim mobo (not sure if it's model-specific or not) has the points for the extra two usb ports still intact. I've seen some people reconnect them, and put one or two ports on the back of the system. that's one thing to try if one or both usb ports have started to fail. have u tried usb hub? use a powered one if u haven't tried, because the system will say something about there being a power issue if ur siphoning too much power from one or more ports.

Don't have a hub to try but I was thinking of adding a rear USB port as I despise looking at them up front. I did this with my CECHA-01 model. The only hub I have isn't a powered one. I was thinking of doing this but wanted to see if i could fix this without adding extra external hardware as I looks tacky to me. I only use a USB device for video as I don't have any games on it/them I chose to go with a 1tb internal. I am not sure if it happened when I updated Movian to the latest build or when a FW happened but my GF pointed this error out to me when she was trying to watch the new rips I did of our Bluray's as my new PC makes light work of doing this with AnyDVD & FairUse. Its nice to have a semi modern PC nowadays. I will give it a go in a few to see what's up as I am going to BestBuy today anyhow I will snag a hub to see whats going on. Not even sure what FW I am on ATM as I try to stick to 4.21.2 to use my CU3 dongle but it doesn't have WiFi support for Vita only USB so no PSTV support. Works great for my new Vita and the USB trick is pretty cool. I wish the PSTV had this but Sony disabled that port besides charging and updating offline via recovery. Thank god for system update debug makes swapping when needed really easy and I have all my mods in neat zip files for easy changing of my XMB etc.

I'd strongly advise on using powered external hdds and hubs. I once used two hdds (non-powered) that I had taken out of the 360 hdd chasis. it gave a power utilization error, and destroyed both hdds instantly. at least they were 120GB ones I guess, but that was when I was unaware of how weak the ps3 usb ports were. the 360 ones r better from my experience. I have an unpowered one plugged into my main system, and it's never failed to read or failed in general. plus, the 360 (not sure about slim) - all phats have 3 (2 in the front; 1 in the back).
