PS3 What is CU and how do I use it with RPCS3?

Hello! I'm seeing this term now everywhere with a particular cheat I want to apply.

First off, I'm using RPCS3 to play the game.
Second off, I dumped the game myself and it runs just fine.
Third off, the game I'm running is White Knight Chronicles II BLUS_30784
Fourth, the code is the Ultimate Avatar Code.

When I look at this code, it looks nothing like the normal code that I am used to seeing for Bruteforce Save Data

How would I apply this code onto bruteforce save data?

You are in the wrong place.
THIS IS NOT RPCS3's FORUM.

No, it is PSX-Place. Somewhere where anything and everything can be discussed regarding playstation. I don't see why RPCS3 doesn't fall under that playstation monocle.
Granted, it doesn't quite fall under the demographic of users here, but that doesn't mean there isn't a user somewhere in here that could lend a hand.

Brute force save data should be practically the same procedure for both emulated and real hardware. So, maybe that does fall into some of the users knowledge here.

Your response is pretty useless and, quite frankly, rather rude. I doubt a new user wants that kind of response on their very first post.

I do agree with you, it was kinda rude. I don't usually behave like this but, AFAIK, almost all of the RPCS3 user's are pirates. And I just don't feel like helping them.

I am not saying the OP is one of them, but I just..... Well, its my opinion and that's how the way it is.

@gondracorn, didn't mean to be rude, but you'll have better luck finding a solution if you post your queries in the right forums.

I dumped my game, I didn't download it. And, actually, RPCS3 doesn't support users with piracy. In addition, afaik, most pirated games don't work properly on rpcs3.

I understand your point. But the reason I asked was because bruteforce save data is discussed here on the forums. I will reiterate again,

What exactly is a CU and how do I implement it with RPCS3, for those that know.

Brute force save data should be practically the same procedure for both emulated and real hardware.

I know. But I feel like I'm missing something as the codes won't work no matter how I put them in.

The "CU" probably means "Code Unique". It was a PS3 USB dongle to use game cheats
The hardware was the same than PS3usercheat and P3go btw: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS3UserCheat

^^ haha you win for 2 seconds.

CU = Code Unique. It was a commercial cheat dongle for FW 3.55.

It was reversed and published as Ps3UserCheat by oct0xor. It' doesn't work on FW 4.xx
https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=166

EDIT: For 4.xx use Artemis by @dnawrkshp (updated for latest FW by @bucanero)
https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=291
Hehe, this USB dongles made a chapter of the PS3 story, and it was very confusing, i know a bit of it because i had a P3go and i was documenting this "clone wars" in psdevwiki

The first device using that hardware was the P3go, it was a jailbreak dongle running in 3.41 OFW http://reviews.dcemu.co.uk/review-p3go-gt-break-ii-usb-microsd-sdhc-344950.html
Later appeared the http://hamdan-maulana.blogspot.com/2015/09/cara-cheats-game-ps3-dengan-ps3usercheat.html
And the code unique (the photo of my previous post)
And maybe some more... all them using exactly the same USB device

The cool thing of that USB dongle is it had a microcontroller fully programmable, and a nice SDK support from the microcontroller manufacturer. Actually this same microcontroller was used in some low-price media players from random brands (it includes a display controller, etc... is a tiny computer)

Anyway... the weird thing is all this companies manufacturing USB dongles for PS3 was pretending to be different companies, but the fact is there was some software releases from P3go where the files was named "code unique" or "ps3usercheat", lol
They was also distributing modifyed versions of "GAIA manager" and "OpenManager" with the logos replaced by his companies in a blatantly way
We never had a real proof if all them was the same company, i guess they was but who know, it was a war about cloning everything that moves

Edit:
And yeah, oct0xor and flatz defeated them and finished the war :encouragement:

These cheats are not applied to the Saves like the ones applied by Bruteforce SaveData.
They are applied by CU to the EBOOT loaded in LV2 memory of 3.55.

In my PS3 Tools Collection there is a tool named PS3CheatEditor.exe that allows to patch the EBOOT of the game with the cheats that use static addresses. These cheats are listed with a blue icon and the patched EBOOT should work on any FW version.

At the bottom of the window there is a button labeled "Patch ELF". It shows a menu that lets you open the ELF, apply the selected patches and make the SELF or EBOOT.

So how do I patch non-EBOOT (red) cheats? The ultimate Avatar cheat is red, and I really need that cheat patched, as I don't think I can progress through the game without the cheat... the boss has a move that has instakill for even high-standard stats (Tho, probably not maxed possible stats)

EDIT: Also, thanks for the responses everyone! I really appreciate them and can understand better now!

As I mentioned above these CU codes are for Ps3UserCheat that only works on CFW 3.55.

Your options are: downgrade to 3.55 + use Ps3UserCheat or find the equivalent code for Artemis (which runs on latest FW versions).

Or try to find/create a cheat for Brutefoce Save Data / Apollo.

I don't have a ps3. So both options won't work.

Also, I've looked everywhere. There is no such cheat on the internet.

And, to create a cheat is beyond my expertise.

I've not used RPCS3 a whole lot, but when you first set it up, dont you have to install a firmware? Cant that firmware be 3.55? Although I dont know how cfw and exploits work with emulated systems....

I was checking today, and actually many PS3 Code Unique cheats could be ported and used with Artemis easily :D

Take for example After burner climax (NPUB30151), the cheat "infinite armor":

in Code Unique 2.3 (from @aldostools Cheat Editor), the code is:
Code:
00002000 01497A20 7FFFFFFF

in Artemis, the same code is:
Code:
Infinite Armor
0
CodeFreak/PS3UserCheat
0 01497A20 7FFFFFFF
#

so in this case you could port "00002000" CU codes to "0" Artemis codes easily. Just replace the first block with a "0", and create a ".ncl" cheat file for Artemis.

I'm pretty sure that other command codes could be easily ported, and even at some point a mass converter could be created to turn a CodeUnique database into Artemis ".ncl" files.
In any case, probably most cheats are already in Artemis, so there's no need to convert them all... just the ones that are missing.

cheers!

FYI the blue codes in the Cheat Editor can be ported easily to Artemis
00000000 00000000 00000000 = Comment
00000000 XADDRESS 000000XX = Write 8 bit value to address
00001000 XADDRESS 0000XXXX = Write 16 bit value to address
00002000 XADDRESS XXXXXXX = Write 32 bit value to address

I'm not 100% sure about the following codes:
00004000 XADDRESS XXXXXXX = Write 32 bit value to address (command continue in next line)
00004RRR SSSSSSSS 00000000 = Repeat RR times, add SSSSSSSS to address

00005000 ADDRESS1 ADDRESS2 = Copy memory in address 1 to address 2 (32bit??)
00005000 00000001 00000000

00005100 ADDRESS1 ADDRESS2 = Copy memory in address 1 to address 2 (16bit??)
00005000 00000001 00000000

0000C0NN 00000000 KKKKKKKK = Conditional code fired by combo buttons. NN number of next lines, KKKK = Button flags
???????? ???????? ???????? (e,g, 0000000C = L1+R1, 00080000 = Start, 00010000 = Select, 00060000 = L3+R3)

00003000 XADDRESS XXXXXXX = Conditional Pointer. Next line is executed if XXXXXXXX value matches. (Not sure!!)
???????? ?ADDRESS ???????? = This address is relative

Thanks for the answer but, my question is: a way to wrote a memory cheat code with RPCS3 and use like a .cht file into Arthemis PS3.

I have been with RPCS 3 forum there are people legit using own game and not downloading from shady website

i've been contacting with admin in there.

Also admin from RPCS3 have a real console and using their own game

Also that the game been tested are not from pirate everything else is original dumped from dvd and content original like PSN

@bucanero talking about RPCS3, there's any way to make cheats using this emulator and use into PS3?

I never used RPCS3 so I don't know if such thing is possible... I assume that an emulator could provide direct access to the process/game memory, so in such cases you could actually discover regions where to apply cheats.
In theory, later you could port those addresses back to a real PS3 running Artemis, but as I said I've never used the emulator and never tried such thing.
I'd first check if RPCS3 currently has any kind of cheat-support or not.
