Your entire collection needs to be considered not just the new content as the scanning take place right after each system boot.Since I only scan when I have new games, I guess I'm safe with Min. Thank you for the info!
In general, webMAN MOD uses very small amount of memory for its regular operations (i.e. fan control and mount games).
The memory options found in /setup.ps3 are mainly used to reserve space to *sort* during the scanning of content and to list the files in the file manager (via web). When these tasks are completed, the reserved memory is released.
For small games collections, MIN without MC option is ok. For larger collections you may need to use the other memory options.
MC is an option to let the plugin use more than 2MB of memory from the Application memory container when the plugin is in XMB.
if using MC, does it make the PS3 heat increase?
Thank you.
Thanks Aldostools, it is possible to add option spoof/patch noBD/BD Emu in wMM so homebrew (e.g. erk dumper) can work on normaly CFW with damaged BD Drive/broken logic board?"MC" = "Memory Container". That means that webMAN will try to allocate 3MB from the "Application Memory Container" instead of the memory pool used by VSH (which normally is under 2MB free) for sorting games or listing files. This feature is used only when you are on XMB. In-game wMM will use always VSH memory.
"MC" feature isn't related in any way to the system temperature. However, "MC" has a limitation: if you start a game/app while the "MC" is allocated (e.g. the content scanning haven't finished), the system could freeze and it may result in an overheat if the system is not turned off soon.
