I actually tried thousand times and it just isn't trying to install the hybrid firmware, the USB is on FAT32 and also converted to MBR, and I checked the pup md5 and they are matching would like some help, please.

Yes, you can try updating via the Recovery Menu. From there select option 6. System Update. This is a way to install firmware if you cannot do so from the XMB.

If no update data is found as you've mentioned, then make sure on the root of your USB drive you have the exact following file/folder structure where X is your USB drive letter: X:\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP

If the USB drive is not detected by the PS3 (if it cannot be seen under the Picture, Music, Video columns on the XMB) then try another USB drive.

Sometimes it happens that the console does not see the firmware on the flash drive, writes "System update data not found." Most often this can happen for reasons:
  • The first reason is that you may have turned on the console with a joystick connected, especially in the right port. Solution: Disconnect all connected devices from the USB stick. Plug in only the flash drive with the firmware and turn on the curling iron. When turned on, the PS3 will automatically scan all USB ports and should detect the correct flash drive. Only after the console asks you to connect the joystick and press the button, only then connect the joystick! Then go to the Photo or Video menu and check if the flash drive appears there. If the flash drive is defined, then start updating the firmware from the flash drive.
  • The second reason is that most likely you formatted the flash drive in FAT32 format, of course, but with the GPT markup table, which the PS3 console with hardware based on 2006 does not understand. The fact is that the latest versions of Windows 7/10 have long been formatting large flash drives by default in FAT32 or NTFS format with a GPT partition table, but Windows does not show this in the properties and does not warn in any way. You need FAT32 with MBR partition scheme!
  • The third reason is not enough food. Solution - Plug your PS3 into a power outlet directly, without any tees.
  • The fourth reason is the wrong path/filename. Solution - change the path to //PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP (Only this path and file name!)
  • The fifth reason is a bad flash drive. Solution - replace the flash drive.

use recovery mode. no usb hub! only plug in one controller and the usb device.

i have a guide HERE with troubleshooting tips.

on the XMB menu, the USB is detected I tried so many times on recovery mode and it keeps telling me that the files are corrupted(8002F2C5)
