Hi everyone, in these days I've done the upgrade on my PS3 with the CFW Overflow 4.84 V5 with the COBRA patches 7.55. I came from the FERROX 4.83 with the same COBRA patches 7.55 on which I had webMAN MOD v1.47.09 and REBUG Toolbox 2.02.16 with cobra patches 7.55. But when I updated to Overflow 4.84, rebug toolbox became partially incompatible with this version of the firmware and webman has disappeared from the XMB menu. In short, I do not consider myself particularly satisfied with this firmware. So my question is: when will FERROX 4.84 be released?

Only a few functions will work on other CFW's with REBUG Toolbox as quite a lot of the feature are for DEX and other CFW may not have the right patches for the toolbox and are not DEX as REBUG is a Hybrid of CEX and DEX and allow you to convert your Retail PS3 to more or less be a debug unit. Also the toolbox will most likely have to be updated to be compatible with newer FW.

webman has disappeared from the XMB menu

If you look at this post I made on one of the overflow threads I edited the xml to bring webMAN back to the XMB:

Follow the instructions I have made to install this xml and webMAN should be back on the xmb after rebooting the PS3. Any problem installing it and let me know and I'll sort any issue's out you may have with it.

So my question is: when will FERROX 4.84 be released?

I have not seen or heard anything about a new Ferrox CFW, this is made by the dev @Alexander so its down to him if he's going to make another one.

You will need to keep an eye on the forums for any news of this and also this thread as normally STL will put a Coming soon or Planned on it if he knows one is going to be made:

Ferrox Cobra 4.84 755 is in beta testing. Will be released in this week end, 2 or 3 March.
@Alexander when you release the FERROX 4.84 CFW please send me the link cause i will download it and extract the coreOS to make noFSM Ferrox 4.84 Base for people who want to flash ps3 with hardware flasher from 4.84 OFW straight to 4.84 CFW :) :)

One question since everyone seems hyped about this, is there any advantage having FERROX 4.84 installed in compare to Overflow?

This system software update improves system performance.

Personally, i prefer it than other CFWs, including Rebug, as it is stable, not heavy-modded visually (even though it has an optional package for that) and never had an issue with any fw-related homebrew apps.

FERROX is possible the second most popular CFW the previous version's of ferrox all had graphical enhancements to the xmb and other screens . That's about all i know about ferrox at the minute. Each CFW has it own unique features.

it was just supposed to be funny. ;) I agree though, it must be the second most popular CFW. Just try and you'll find your favorite one

I tried to follow the steps in every single detail, but when I double check the X button of my joypad on the PS3-dev_blind.zip , the "Do you wish to Install zip? " message doesn't appear to me. I would never have to upgrade to Overflow... Now rebug toolbox does not work as it should and webman has evaporated! Until FERROX 4.83 I did not have these problems. I only hope that with this new update from FERROX this mess will be solved. Fingers crossed!

I had to reactions to it lol > was he trying to funny and joke on >or was he trying to be a smart arse lol. confused .com lol hence the eh? lol

Well the ofw is a lot of just maintenance stuff updating apps and such, waiting till xploit's come out then patching the pricks,

then i see the funny and irony side of the BS S@ny say because it not true if they want to increase system performance then they should give there CEX ofw pup the same increase in VRAM through a patch they put into the DEX pups a while back for DECH debug units that give them about 80MB of extra ram lol, unless they have done this for CEX and I have not read about it yet lol .

@Giaggio96

??? Why did you quote me and say nothing???? `\:confused:/`
He put his reply inside the quote tags , easily done.

Here:

Excuse me, I did not realize that I deleted the section to quote the single string... However, the message I wanted to send is found in the quote. I'm a noob I admit :cower:

That's ok, out of 100+ downloads of it, there have only been 2 glitches, that i know of reported to me, I don't like even 1 glitch in thing 's I do for people so I'll see what the issue is, and get back to you.
