Which cfw to use?

Hey everyone

Recently picked up a PS3 Slim CECH-2103, currently has 4.86 ofw installed. I've spent a few days reading up and feel confident on the setup and install process for cfw but I'm still unsure which cfw to pick.

Should I go straight to the latest Evilnat 4.89 or opt for an older alternative? My usage is pretty basic, homebrew, emulation, ps1/2/3 games etc. don't plan on going online so not really requiring the latest version.

There's a lot of posts on available cfw from 4.86 onwards… many options. My initial thoughts was the 4.86 rebug lite, or the modded version of rebug 4.86 with latest cobra 8.3. Maybe even the latest version of evilnat 4.89 just so I was using the most up to date cfw available.

Given the use case, what would people recommend? Any advice is appreciated!

Avoid any 4.89.

IMO the kings are Rebugs 4.84.2 Rex/D-Rex or 4.86.1 Lite. But plenty of people using Evilnat 4.88.2 and don't complains.

Yeah evilnat 4.88.2 seems to tick all the boxes for me and like you said people say it's fairly stable.

Would I be able to install rebug 4.84.2 with current ofw 4.86 or would I need to install a 4.86+ cfw, enable QA and then downgrade to cfw 4.84.2?

you use multiman aka mmCM first hit triangle and copy it over, if you are looking to copy over digital games i.e games that aren't isos then you go to the game folder
