PS2 White Screen on all games

I've just set up OPL v1 on my PS2 with FMCB because I was fed up of burning discs. I have a slim PS2 so I've set it up to load games over the network. That all seems to be set up properly, it shows all the games I have put in my PS2SMB folder but it won't load any of them. No matter what game I try to run, it gives me a white screen. I've been googling for answers and most people seem to suggest white screen is usually caused by a fragmented USB stick, but I'm not using that method.

I also tried converting a game to USBUtil format but that also gave me a white screen.

OPL v1.0.0 or OPL DB v1.0.0? ;) Or OPL beta which as I heard last time, breaks SMB (I don't using it so I don't know).

It's OPL V1, I'm not sure what OPL DB is.
I have got it working by using a different computer as the SMB server. I'm not sure if I've got a setting wrong on the other computer or if it's just too slow ‍♂️

There is no such thing like "OPL v1", so I'm also not sure what it is. ;) Latest official OPL is "v1.0.0".

"Computer speed" have nothing to do with Samba. It needs just sending files in at least 4MiB/s speed.

Use alcohol 120 to rip the game. And use opl Manager use the disc/convert to iso. I get white screens all the time. But this method works for me

Yes I mean 1.0.0, downloaded from GitHub.

I wonder why it wouldn't work then, I must have a setting wrong on that computer. Weird that it can see my games and create the folder structure so it definitely has read/write permissions. It's an old work laptop that is still on the work domain, I wonder if that could have an effect. I'll wipe it at some point and try again. I've also just got a crossover cable so I might see if I have more luck with that.

Yeah, ImgBurn. other ripping software can miss places where some games hide data.

The same files that didn't work on the first computer worked on the second so I'm sure the files themselves are fine.

His problem is described in first post. ;) OPL seeing game list from all computers but only on one of them works, on another white screen is displayed (one of debug colours) trying to load it.

The reason why I suggested this way is the white screen and black screen errors is game ID related. Alcohol 120 has ps 2 format image feature. And opl manager convert iso tool connect to the internet and repairs the game ID issue. And take like 10 minutes to do. I have 120 most of them had white screen errors. And out do 120 only one game I couldn't get to work. The method works better than usbutil

Those profiles means nothing in case of PS2 games. For DVD games is standard mode1 image, and in CD games is standard mode2 image which every app for disc reading can do. The problem is, Alcohol 120% using MDF+MDS disc image format which not so many apps supporting. It is waste of time to using it, really.

What do You mean by "game ID issue"? Disc dump is 1:1 and any modification of it is a bad idea in the first place (possible moving LBA and renaming files without correcting ECC etc. etc.).

For what reason You are using USBUtil for games sending via SMB protocol? Even for USB is not needed if game doesn't exceed 4GiB in size.

Just a quick update, I took my older computer off the Domain and now everything works as it should.

Interestingly, when it was on the domain, I could only get the games list to show with a domain username/password, the local machine administrator account wouldn't work (even if I tried COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME).
