Do you think there will be an open source modchip that is firmware upgradable? Like the Open Xenium mod chip for the Xbox but instead for the PS2?
I've installed many Modbo chips in PS2's but sometimes they just refuse to read import PS2 games for some odd reason. Even though my solder joints look fine. Perhaps these chips sometimes fail to flash the console properly even after going over my solder work multiple times. I tried to upgrade the firmware on my Modbo, but ended up killing the chip. I wish there was a readily available, better quality modchip with more features. Like the Matrix Infinity but open source. I don't understand as to why nobody has created an updated modernised modchip for the best selling console of all time.
