the old domains are gone and are should not be used. we do not know who bought them or their plans.
did a whois search on the domain found that its owned by something called DomainsByProxy, registar is godaddy(ripoff artests) and that it was last changed on aug 2nd this year which feels about the same time people started having issues with the domains going down. ill be looking into it a little further on my leisure time as theres something that just doesnt sit right here mainly with these status updates on the domain of **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) (dont use anymore)
Domain Status: clientDeleteProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientDeleteProhibited
Domain Status: clientHold https://icann.org/epp#clientHold
Domain Status: clientRenewProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientRenewProhibited
Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited
Domain Status: clientUpdateProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientUpdateProhibited
Name Server: NS53.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
Name Server: NS54.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
DNSSEC: unsigned

it looks like first the old/orginal owners were deleted out of the ownership of the domain, then it was put in hold of a new client, it became renewed, then transfered to someone else then became updated but the domain is still down. somethings not right here.

also the expiry date of the domain isnt till Nov 23 this year which clearly shows that the domain definately was stolen

they allow you to be anonymous instead of listed in whois...

understandable, i did some digging in them and yea found that out also, but those 5 instances of the domain status changes are just off, just a therory but what are the odds that sony is cracking down on people modifying their 2 gen outdated consoles and technically breaking their TOS. like what are the odds that some dbag at sony is buying up all these domains then posing as these awesome modders and jailbreakers to get them to upload device bricking files or some thing like that? i mean the ps3 is something like over 10 years old I believe, meaning that its while still protected under their TOS and copyrights atleast for another 10 years. but do you think someone at sony would really stoop that low???

yes, the entire thing was illegal on the part of GoDaddy. I have contacted EFF, but they said they would only be able to refer me to other lawyers, and not many, if any would do it pro bono.

I don't know how else to legally proceed in even getting them back. At this point, it would be simply to have them to shame GoDaddy.

I made a small post about basically what happened here: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps3xploit-temporary-mirror-ps3xploit-me.38005/#post-342182

have you considered other domain names that were not owned by godaddy? i scanned everything in the ** ** www.ps3xploit.net > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com) > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com/com/org domains (all 3 carbon copys) through the help from the waybackmachine archive tool, there was absolutely not a damn thing that was illegal that should have triggered an investigation from the digital crime unit, all the site did was provide a set of nifty tools to JB our ps3 consoles, which the hosting of tools is nowhere illegal as my local stores sells red and blue strobe lights for your car but they are illegal to use for non emergency personal. its kinda the same thing, your site had tools they cant punish the "store" for having stuff but they may have been after logs of IP's that used the tools, which they cant legally sieze without justifiable cause. (not a lawyer just dealt with way to many cops over the years) the only thing that would make any kind of sense is if your sites were hacked to be used as spoofers to cover someones tracks. if we had a way to access the logs (most domains auto track that to know what kind of traffic the site gets) a person could know WTF really happened to warrant this kind of responce. but for them to be very unprofessional and hang up on you on multiple occasions is not right. im not sure if you've ever looked into it but google llc does offer free domains that can be upgraded for dirt cheap, i have a domain for my holiday lighting hobby lightshow that i seldomly go on, but its possible to use that as an umbrella so to speak to have links to where things are going to be from here on out. i also did find a few domains available for yearly subscriptions for pretty cheap that still uses the ps3xploit name, the cheapest was the .ca one that is going for a few cents over $12 per year (prices in CAD) it would just be nice to have the full picture vs the version that were being told from godaddy and the DCU

Just came to say thank you. And to confirm that there are no addresses that work atm, right? Because of said reasons above. I was following MrMario's guide but realized the most recent domains could be found here...

You are correct if your going for the CFW We can still use hen (I perfer CFW) so until BG's toolset is back online were SOL unless bg would be nice and let us know if anything else we could do to install a CFW.

Can't wait for bgtoolset to be up again :( Someone updated my jb'd ps3 and now I have to go through the same ordeal again
BTW If someone is interested I have original release of nor dumper/nor+nand writer for 4.81/4.82

At this point would it not make sense to allow people to self-host bgtoolset? I get that it's supposed to be coming soon to ps3xploit.me, but what's stopping this situation from happening all over again in the future?

At least if people had the option to self-host, they wouldn't be totally SOL for weeks on end.

I think bguerville said earlier that as long as there is an option for online hosting he won't share it. Not exact words so don't quote me on that. AFAIR it was due to unpublished vulnerabilities which s#ny could patch putting us back to Cobra ODE and E3 Flasher.

sure maybe, but IMO that would just be rewarding the people who stole it. they would have the full code just like everybody else and could improve their own version.

what's stopping this situation from happening all over again
the fact that the russian team lied and did not hack the site but rather found the code and copied it. :)

So, they could make it better? ...How is that a bad thing? This is literally one of the biggest benefits to open-sourcing software.

It's true that improvements is one of the biggest benefits of open-source software, but bgtoolset is not open-source and the author (bguerville) has clearly expressed that his intentions are only to share the results of his work to the community, not to show to Sony how he achieved these results.

Even if it was open, the Russian kids violated the copyright in various ways:
- They lied saying that it was their work, when in fact they used the files that someone else dumped on 2021 (who also violated the copyright of the software).
- They put in risk other the console of other users without alert that it was an incomplete version with bugs. The dumper at least mentioned it in the documentation.
- They removed all references to donations and credits from the original bgtoolset, adding their own donation links to get monetary benefits.
- Neither the dumper or the Russian kids asked for permission to distribute the code / site.

In summary they only translated to Russian the work from someone else that also stole/reversed the code. Sharing the real source would be a prize to them for all their faults.

If some *real developers* want to make improvements, the original flasher for 4.82-4.85 is open source. In the same thread, bguerville & littleballup gave several tips that explain how to update it to 4.86-4.89.

Also wMM has untested code for a software flasher that could be improved to achieve similar results. This code is currently available but disabled for safety reasons.

Until the ps3xploit domain issues are resolved, PS3 Toolset users wishing to access the site might still be able to do so using a custom Cloudflare DNS in the PS3 network settings..
Now I have not tested this workaround to confirm whether everything works, but in theory either of the custom Cloudflare DNS IPs below might do the trick and let you access the ** ** www.ps3xploit.net > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com) > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com domain in the browser.

173.245.59.128

If some of you want to give it a try, let me know how it goes.
If it works as I expect it should, it will not be the most practical of tricks but better than nothing for the time being.
Test today and not working :(

it was only possible for it to work for a short time. ps3xploit team did not control how long it was gonna last. for now, we wait for new site to come online. (you can use HEN untill then if you do not have CFW already installed.)

Why not update the flash_writer on the last fw to install a cfw on offline until the site will be solved ???
