PS3HEN Xenosaga Episode I black screen

Hi
I have been a lurker for over a year and this is my first post, english is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes

My ps3 is super slim
Latest HEN 3.02 installed
Latest Webman Mod 1.47.32
Latest PS2 Config (20201214) installed
PS2 Classics Placeholder installed

I have problem with Xenosaga 1 in webman mod the game wont start and it stays on black screen. Same result with undub and dvd5 rip. I also tried to install PS2 Classic Launcher Rebug Edition and also convert the game with PS2 Classic GUI 2.2.3 and IMG Encrypt.

I got it working on my HEN console, it is almost 8GB though, so it will take a few to upload. I will post the link as soon as it is finished.

As a test, I'll try and see if I can get that game to run on my HEN console. If I am able to get it working, I'll link you the game.

Rename ISO.BIN.ENC to SLUS_204.69.BIN.ENC. Or to make it easier, wait for the next version of the @bucanero Apollo Save Tool to encrypt ISO games.

Anyways, after ripping my games I check the md5 of the ISO in redump.org and test it first on PCSX2 before converting it into ENC so i think its not the game has the problem. I also rename it to "SLUS_204.69.Xenosaga I.BIN.ENC". I only tried the undub & 3xdvd5 version because I thought it will have different result
I have more than 20 PS2 games in my PS3 right now and Xenosaga I is the only one thats not working
I will try to convert it to PKG later, thanks

And that's probably your issue. Try clean unmodded DVD9 iso first, because many modded games not work on PS3 because repackers use ultra ISO, or other apps that kill compatibility with PS3.
 
That's the first one i've tried. I ripped the game from my original DVD9 game I also check the md5 of the ISO and it matches the md5 from redump.org so no corruption of files in the ISO. The Xenosaga 3xDVD5 ripkit i've downloaded uses a IML2ISO to rebuild the ISOs. Also some PS2 games in my PS3 was modded I use UltraISO to put CODEBREAKER.ELF & BOOT.ELF in the ISO, the games work with no issues

Anyway thanks for the help I think I solve my problem. The game works now after deleting "SLUS_204.69.ENC" from the PS2CONFIG folder.

Is it okay to delete .ENC? I know .CONFIG file fixes some games like Valkyrie Profile 2 wont load without it but i dont know what is .ENC for.
 
For some reason the config on the aldos tools website causes the black screen. It's supposed to fix the erde kaiser quest but it causes slowdown anyways. It's safe to delete it.
