XMB Manager Plus mod 0.23.000-mod by aldostools for COBRA!

This is a fork of the official XMBM+ that I originally developed for personal use on 3.55 Kmeaw.
Now I adapted the category_games.xml to work with webMAN + XMB Manager Plus on COBRA 7.0

Easy install on Cobra 7: (may not contain latest version of XMBM+)

or

Manual installation
1. Install a Cobra CFW. - (XMBM+ can be used also on non-Cobra CFW.)
2. Install multiMAN 04.66.08 (or later if available) - http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24
3. Launch multiMAN, go to Settings column and enable the option "Write access to dev_flash" (it's the 2nd option from bottom)
4. Go to multiMAN's mmOS (File Manager) pressing [Select] + [Start] buttons
5. Copy webftp_server.sprx (version 1.41.x) to the root of /dev_hdd0/

Official version of webMAN-MOD by M@tsumoto and aldostools:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD

Use PRX Loader by u$er to launch webMAN manually on non-Cobra CFW:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=243
(use new_core from Estwald to auto-start PRX Loader on system boot)

Latest webMAN MOD versions are available here:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=257

Latest official versions are always here:

6. Copy the included boot_plugins.txt to the root of /dev_hdd0/
7. Copy the included category_game.xml to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ (do not edit this file unless you know what you're doing)
8. Reboot.
9. Install the included xmbmanplus_hdd.pkg
10. Enjoy XMBM+ on COBRA 7.0!
NOTE: For support of /PS3ISO, /PSXISO, /DVDISO and /BDISO content on external drives with NTFS file system, install and execute prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs.
Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN's data.

How to update XMB Manager Plus (mod)
1. Click the About option in XMB Manager Plus mod for the update option
2. If there is an update, you will be prompted to download the file (Save in the downloaded pkg in the root of the USB drive)
3. Install the downloaded pkg from Install Package Files
4. Refresh XMB launching any application (eg. BD Reset) and returning to XMB.

Thanks to:
  • DeanK for the awesome webftp_server.sprx
  • COBRA's lead developer for the release of the unofficial Cobra 7.0
  • user for PRX LOADER
  • Team XMBM+: andreus(coding), bitsbubba(coding, themes), DeViL303(coding, POC/WIP) ps3Hen (coding, 4.00 port), aldostools(coding), CloneD(themes), Berion(logos)
  • dreamcat4 for the suggested .xml method and exofreak for his POC release of launch games through XMB using webMAN.

Plz help, I have nowhere else to go. Tried to install XMBM+ on rebug 4.78.2 . Installed XMBM+ (mod). It changed dev_blind. Webman stopped working (webpage is temporarily unavailable). Panicked. Deleted everything. Reinstalled firmware. Did it again from recovery menu. The result is: xmb rebug-embedded webman is nowhere to be seen, rebug toolbox is unable to turn it on, Multiman Cobra capabilities are broken, MMCM mode is broken. CFW reinstall is useless. Plz advice whatever u can.

NB: Installed XMBM+ from CFW Cobra tools 2.0 set

What pkg did you use to install it? The xmbextras 0.23 pkg is all you need if you are on Rebug 4.78, that pkg doesn't change dev_blind. It only installs files to HDD. Rebug 4.78 already has support for XMBM+ built into dev_blind.

Sounds like you might have had a disc in the drive when you reinstalled FW and you installed OFW.

Nope. Disc was ejected prior to install. CFW name re-checked. Multiman starts, but MMCM mode and Cobra functionality is broken "you need cobra cfw or cobra usb".

NB: Installed XMBM+ from CFW Cobra tools 2.0 set. Basically I installed (supposedly) older version of XMBM+ on a CFW that already supports XMBM+ natively. It seems to me that dev_blind changes made by CFW Cobra Tools version of XMBM has something to do with this.

Yes! I can.

I made ALL THE DUMPS REBUG TOOLBOX ALLOWS before rewriting dev_blind. Specifically, NAND/NOR and xDadabase of something like that.

Reinstall CFW from recovery, REMEMBER to disconnect internet remove BD (if have inserted). After that download xmbm that [MENTION=22544]DeViL303[/MENTION] mentioned (assuming you will reinstall latest rebug) and everything should be fine.

Can you use a file manager or FTP and go to /dev_flash/rebug/cobra/ and see what the 2 filestypes are? do they have the extensions .bak? Sometimes I have seen Rebug toolbox get confused and show cobra as enabled when its not, same can happen with cfw settings, especially if you mess with dev_blind like you have done.

But yeah the above advice should sort you out quick enough. Delete the toolbox too maybe and reinstall that aswell from package manager.

Here is the xmbextras 0.23.003 pkg , once you are on Rebug 4.78 this is all you need for XMBM+ : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/nbfgpf0rcbins8s/xmbextras.pkg

Done. Nearly forgot to enable Cobra in Rebug Toolbox. Btw, prior to Toolbox reinstall the "Enable Cobra" string was completely missing.

All is fully operational now. Thank you! Btw plz explain, what is the difference between dev_flash and dev_blind and what have I done?

Dev_flash in 99% homebrew is read only. Dev_blind in 99% homebrew is (truly dev_flash) read-write able.

Im not sure what you did exactly , it could be hard/impossible to replicate, it would depend on lots of factors and the exact order everything happened in. But whatever happened it seems like you corrupted something , and that made Rebug toolbox think you were on non-Rebug/non-Cobra FW, so the string disappeared and cobra got disabled which broke everything else, Im guessing something like that.

Just need to remember when installing OLDER pkgs from before the FW you are on existed, that if they modify dev_flash (aka dev_blind) they are likely to cause problems if the files are important, its hit and miss, normally if the files are things like xmls, icons, wave, boot logo etc is ok, but not always. Can run into problems with some xmls, rcos, sprx's and selfs. the package you were installing this from is over 1.5 years old.

He probably somehow modified only one of stage2, rebug toolbox can handle cobra only when dex and cex stage are bak or not.

Btw checked the files in dev_flash prior to re-installing rebug toolbox, just before it all got fixed. Both stage2`s were .bak

Strange, your Rebug Toolbox or one of your FW files must have got corrupted and that's why you lost the option to enable it. Anyway sorted now.

I'll be working on a proper re-release of XMBM+ (I'll be dropping the mod) as I'm one of original members of Team XMBM+ and I think it's proper time for a reboot :)

So is this still on the cards?

What do you think of the new theme section in XMBPD? It could be added to XMBM+ very easily too if you want to include it.

(I know icons for each theme would be nice, if anyone knows a way to extract all the preview icons from each theme I will add them)

Can anyone provide me with an XMBM + compatible with Rebug 4.81 REX? I have a version that I removed the path of XMBPD inside XMBM +, but I look for a clean version :topsy turvy:

The version you are using is as good as any.

I have moved XMBPD out of the XMBM+ folder now (in that beta you are using) as it was causing problems when people wanted to remove one and not the other, so these apps are no longer tied together.

So now when I delete XMBM +,the will XMBPD no go disappear from the Networks tab?
