XMB Manager Plus mod 0.23.000-mod by aldostools for COBRA!

This is a fork of the official XMBM+ that I originally developed for personal use on 3.55 Kmeaw.
Now I adapted the category_games.xml to work with webMAN + XMB Manager Plus on COBRA 7.0

Easy install on Cobra 7: (may not contain latest version of XMBM+)

or

Manual installation
1. Install a Cobra CFW. - (XMBM+ can be used also on non-Cobra CFW.)
2. Install multiMAN 04.66.08 (or later if available) - http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24
3. Launch multiMAN, go to Settings column and enable the option "Write access to dev_flash" (it's the 2nd option from bottom)
4. Go to multiMAN's mmOS (File Manager) pressing [Select] + [Start] buttons
5. Copy webftp_server.sprx (version 1.41.x) to the root of /dev_hdd0/

Official version of webMAN-MOD by M@tsumoto and aldostools:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD

Use PRX Loader by u$er to launch webMAN manually on non-Cobra CFW:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=243
(use new_core from Estwald to auto-start PRX Loader on system boot)

Latest webMAN MOD versions are available here:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=257

Latest official versions are always here:

6. Copy the included boot_plugins.txt to the root of /dev_hdd0/
7. Copy the included category_game.xml to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ (do not edit this file unless you know what you're doing)
8. Reboot.
9. Install the included xmbmanplus_hdd.pkg
10. Enjoy XMBM+ on COBRA 7.0!
NOTE: For support of /PS3ISO, /PSXISO, /DVDISO and /BDISO content on external drives with NTFS file system, install and execute prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs.
Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN's data.

How to update XMB Manager Plus (mod)
1. Click the About option in XMB Manager Plus mod for the update option
2. If there is an update, you will be prompted to download the file (Save in the downloaded pkg in the root of the USB drive)
3. Install the downloaded pkg from Install Package Files
4. Refresh XMB launching any application (eg. BD Reset) and returning to XMB.

Thanks to:
  • DeanK for the awesome webftp_server.sprx
  • COBRA's lead developer for the release of the unofficial Cobra 7.0
  • user for PRX LOADER
  • Team XMBM+: andreus(coding), bitsbubba(coding, themes), DeViL303(coding, POC/WIP) ps3Hen (coding, 4.00 port), aldostools(coding), CloneD(themes), Berion(logos)
  • dreamcat4 for the suggested .xml method and exofreak for his POC release of launch games through XMB using webMAN.

I recently installed rebug rex 4.81.1 and XMBM+ v0.24.006 was installed as well. There is a lot of features.
Is it possible to add new features like:
- install .pkg from subfolders in packages folder or PS3/DOWNLOADS folder
- install .rap / .edat files from subfolders or copy them to exdata folder
- in File Manager when pressing triangle add install and/or copy to exdata.

I only find vsh menu to install pkg without a computer but it's not very user friendly.

Fyi you can also use webMAN-MOD file manager to install a pkg. Just click on the pkg size!

For the rest, you can bug @bitsbubba to death if you want. I have tried already to get the man back to work on XMBM+ but to no avail...
Lol

I didn't know that. Very useful, Thanks alot.

Can I install .rap and .edat with webMAN-MOD file manager as well ?
No, you can't.

Use psnpatch for that. Copy your raps & edat into a "exadata" folder on a fat32 USB key so it appears like this to the PS3 to /dev_usb00x/exdata.
Launch PSNPatch 2015/11A & click the L1 gamepad button to install your license files.

For this to work well however there must be an original activated act.dat produced after at least one PSN connection was made with the profile on your machine, if you use an act.dat generated by reactpsn, you are likely to experience problems restoring the licenses. There is no risk though.

I discovered you can use webMAN-MOD to copy .edat files to dev_hdd0/home/00000004/exdata. Just click on file size as well.
@aldostools can you add copy .rap files to exdata ?

Also how often do you actually restore licenses? Usually it's done all at once, which is why Aldo always advises to use psnpatch because it does every file in one go...

The edat copying feature gives me issues with wMM in DEX anyway so I don't use it, there's a bug in the algorithm. I need to tell Aldo about it.

@aldostools can you add copy .rap files to exdata ?

Technically it could be done... but it requires to implement the algorithms to convert the .rap files into .rif files... I do not have plans to include this feature.

This addition would increase the memory usage of the plugin... As this task is not frequently used, it is better to use a standalone application like ReActPSN or psnpatch.

Can you just add the link on the file size to copy the .rap file to exdata or any other location that psnpatch can find ? This way no algorithms to add.
edit: Is it possible to start psnpatch after the copy is done ?

You are suggesting a link to copy a file to /dev_usb000/exdata so psnpatch can later use it?
You may as well use the file copy feature in the wMM file manager for this... Or start using webMAN-MOD commands... They are easy to use & can be launched from any browser on your network.

Such feature would rely on 2 conditions, it would require a fat32 usb key plugged in the USB000 port to copy the file & psnpatch would need to be installed otherwise the feature serves no purpose...
Possible of course, very easy to code in fact, but I am dubious? Let's see what aldostools says about this.
