XMB Mod For PS3HEN

Hello everyone! I'm a little new to the ps3 nodding scene and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have 2 systems, a dex rebug console and a ps3hen console. On my ps3hen console I've been looking for a good xmb wave changer. I've tried using the xmb mod collection by 0bewan but it doesnt mount the disc. Yesterday I tried another program called xmb mod or something and it worked it's just everytime I launched a game it would black screen and I couldn't enable hen. I've completely re-installed the firmware and I'm starting fresh. Can anyone suggest to me a good program that can edit the xmb waves?

Many thanks,
Harrison

edit? if you want to edit them, I think that qrc app by @pink1 is the way to go. I have no experience with it though. I think you'll still need something like photoshop with dds plugin to do the backgrounds, but the wave fluidity and color can be changed through notepad++.

Sorry bud, by edit I meant to change them to something else. Not to edit.

My apologies

you can extract the waves from the pkg or iso, then create an installable zip unless you want to inject it manually. the zip should be called PS3~dev_blind~vsh~resource~qgl.zip . just drop the wave into there on the root. I don't know if it's the same with hen as I don't use hen.

Ok thank you for the reply :)

btw, to install the zip, double-click it in multiman;.
How do I get the zip file or the pkg file as you mentioned. I'm I bit of a noob at this stuff so if you could explain to me that would be great.

Thanks.

To modify the XMB wave you can use XForge ---> https://www.psx-place.com/threads/x...cts-of-the-xmb-is-now-easier-then-ever.28804/

From the extracted files you need to modify the files with extension .MNU, are just text based, so is just a matter of editing them with a text editor, take a read at this wiki page to get an initial idea of the files related with the wave
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Lines.qrc

---------------------
The MNU files only stores "settings", but the wave is actually an executable file named spline.elf (is like a program)
So... the only way to replace the wave by something different is by replacing the program spline.elf by a different one
