PS3 3 Beeps and Flashing Red Light on Reboot

One of my launch consoles (CECH-A00) is having an issue it didn't have before.

When I select "Soft Reboot" on Rebug 4.84.2 REX the console attempts to reboot but instead shuts off with 3 beeps and flashing red power light. It only turns back on with the power button, not the controller.

I tried a different hard drive but had the same issue. Could this indicate it's the power supply? The power supply is a APS-231.

This happens even if the console is cold so doesn't seem to be temperature related.

Could be a PSU and it's a good idea to swap it out. I have done this for all of mine and really dropped the temp a few degrees.

This is the one from a 40gb models.

But it could also be the board as well. I suggest doing this no matter what.

I just got a CECHA-01 that was still on FW 1.50 so I am going to do this again like this one

It is a CECHB-01 but runs at temps comparable to my CECH-2501A which is amazing temps.

The LAST thing you should try is delid the chips. This can kill it beyond repair so advised only as a last ditch effort
