yes mate i have broken bd drive please help

Mamba/cobra payloads are useless on noBD system, as ISO files can't be mounted.

You need to disable mamba payload and use folder format games.

I highly recommend using estwald's official iris 3.0

Really? I didn't know this, I thought you could still use the disc icon

That's only when your bd logic board is installed, regardless of its marriage situation.

Cobra/mamba rely on fully working condition of BD logic board to fake/emulate the full bd functionality , which hasn't been covered by noBD fix on lv1 found by MiralaTijera.

However the old method with irismanager works great without mamba, highly recommended

I think I remember( it was about three years ago so if I am wrong then I am wrong) someone saying that if you convert to dex and then use the DEX bdemu debug option to mount a game, this will give a disc icon even on ps3's without a working bd drive. Then use a backup manager to mount the game you actually want to play.

That's what Rancid-o suggested which also doesn't fix the problem. I remember we talked about this issue over at ps3hax

Ok so Joonie already told you how to proceed with mounting games if your logic board is fried.

However if the logic board is dead (it looks that way), do you actually know for sure that the BD drive is dead also?
It might be ok.
What model of console is it anyway? CECH???
If you opened it before, do you have the logic board under your BD Drive or not?

From what i remember that works but you must use also this Install Fake BDEmu v1.0 by Rancid (ps3ita) - PS3 Brewology - PS3 PSP WII XBOX - Homebrew News, Saved Games, Downloads, and More!

Only read carefully the instrunctions for fake bdemu, it can be very dangerous if used in the wrong way
Ummm..
Yeah, just read about it, I see what you mean.
Not to be advised to someone lightly without a warning...
As always, read the doc.....!!!

Hmm ok, I haven't used this dummy usb method for a long time, I haven't tested if this worked fine with mamba or cobra since the method was discovered before we had cobra7 and mamba.

I think someone mentioned that dummy usb didn't fix his issue so he ended up going for npdrm all the way.

I do remember this gives a disc icon back then. :)

Oh i misunderstood, i don't know if that works with mamba/cobra.. probably not..

So, noone knows first-hand if this works with Cobra 7.x or Mamba 7.x/8.0? (8.0 ends up being the older mamba version..!!!)

Also could someone clarify the situation with Mamba support on noBD?

From my theory, if DEX's bdemu fully works, then it should be fully functional without the disc icon appeared, as we all mount games without disc inserted as long as your bd board is alive.

Ok. And if the board is fried?

From the report I saw, only thing that worked was the old iris method or multiman method with dummy usb.

But I haven't confirmed myself.

I am kinda curious about it now

Well I did some testing and it seems that the bd emulator dex option requires a functioning daughter-board to generate the fake bd icon.

Edit: however with my bluray drive installed and disc access set to usb emulator webman mod 1.43.25 was able to mount games, but I had to let the game error back to the xmb once then the second and all subsequent times it would work until a new game was mounted.
