    UPDATE v1.01 & v1.01+

After considering the reports of some users, alexander updated version 1.01. Console on some fact was not syncing the controller to 'start, if you turn on the console via the Wireless Controller in the same mode. In fact, using the cable, or turning on with POWER button, the problem would not show up. Well, the problem was solved. This problem had previously seen on some firmware. The problem was in the TAR. On the advice of Developer Habib, and Evilnat collaboration, here we give the revision 1.01+

    CHANGELOG v1.01 +
    • Fixed the Controller to sync Boot via the Wireless Controller for PS button.
    • Fixed XMB InGame.

We thank the users and developer who helped Test. If you aiutassimo more often at each other in the PS3 scene, between Developer and Tester, it would be a different story. Special thanks to Atreyu and Kozárov by PSX-Place site, for testing on older FAT Console. A big thank you also to our @mizio90 for the 'Installer. It must be said that the new version of the CFW was ready already for a while, but I did make late because of the 'Installer
Thanks Habib and Evilnat for your cooperation to fixed the Controller's question.

  • This version does NOT have the Mod Graphics you saw in FERROX 4.80. However it will be added later, releasing a separate version, or a simple package.

i had the NPUB version of this game & had a dlc fix for it & it worked fine. Then a 1.02 update came out for the game & i updated then it said i needed go buy a licsense to play, assuming i needed a fix, but when i tried to reinstall the same fix it said it was already installed. I thought maybe if i delete the game & reinstall it updating it first then add the dlc &
its patches that it would work, but it didnt cause the patch said it was already installed again (although i deleted the game) The DLC content reinstalled but not the patch. That is why im wondering if the patch is stored somewhere else on my ps3 or is automatically resigning over my original Eboot files when i install the game. Anyway i then tried to take matters into my own hands & edit the patch myself using ps3tools HxD, but all ireally did was edit a file called "access.edat". I saw that it was coded for update 1.01 "UP_1001" so all i did was change the 1 on the end to a 2 & saved. I had no idea how to edit the other files which were "Reboot.self" & EBOOT.BIN" & since i didnt know how to turn the files into a pkg i just overwrote the original files in multiman then i rebuild database. The game actually booted up without the liscense issue but then it was just a black screen & that was that. I figured i messed up everything so i deleted the NPUB version altogether & downloaded the disc version (BLUS), mounted the game (which where i got that 4.75 error) & i clicked No, then updated to 1.02, then started the game. It loaddd up, but was still on the black screen just like the NPUB version was doing after editing the access.edat file although i deleted all the dlc along with the NPUB version. Please can you help me make sense of whats going on?

Also i downloaded Irisman & mounted the BLUS version with, but when it kicked me back to the XMB menu no disc shows up like in multiman. How can i get irisman to display a disc when mounting. Im using my external USB to mount my game.

we can't help with piracy-related questions.

You need to read about this stuff.
Look at the wiki sections about pkg, self, edat licenses.. (psdevwiki.com)
Look for the threads related to PS3 Tools Collection & Trueancestor apps. Check @pinky's tutorials.

Games & Dlc are all installed in /dev_hdd0/game whether they are games from a disc, iso or psn pkg.
However the fix you are talking about is just a license file. A license is EITHER a rif, rap, dat or edat file & those are kept per user. Generally the best place for user files is the home profile folder. All the licenses are installed there, in the "exdata" folder, the fix pkg just copies it there. You could do the same thing manually.

Also executable files on the PS3 are encrypted & often compressed. If you want to edit an eboot.bin or a self, you must decrypt it first. Edit it, then reencrypt it.

Regarding the tools I suggest you use either PS3 Tools Collection 4.81 or the Trueancestor apps. Download them all from our resources section.
Install PS3 Tools Collection 4.81 as Administrator. To do that right click on the installation executable.
Install the msvbvm50 dependency as well (the link is in the resource info of PS3 Tools Collection).
Create in your Antivirus an exception for the PS3 Tools folder otherwise you may get problems.
Once installed, you will get new options in your context menu & some file associations will be made like .pkg, .sfo, .self....
With a double click, you can open a pkg file to view its contents & extract it.
Also when you right click on an eboot.bin, you get many entries including an Extract ELF entry to decrypt the file.
You can also Make a pkg by right clicking on a folder....

The Trueancestor apps are easy to use & self explanatory up to a point.
The pkg Rebuilder can extract or make pkg.
The self resigner can decrypt, encrypt, sign, resign, convert type....

PSN games installed by pkg don't show in any backup manager, only on XMB.
In a backup manager you only get games in iso format (recommended) or in JB format (folders & files like in the days of 3.55).

Iso is better for many reasons & Cobra ensures its support. On external hdd though you need to use ntfs because of the fat32 4Gb file size restrictions.

If you use ISO format, Cobra will take care of everything.

If you use JB format however you need to configure how the game is mounted by Irisman.
When you choose the game, press Triangle.
In the menu choose the configuration. Choose BD mirror. Save the configuration.
Mount the game.

I was going to write a tutorial on "fixing" games, but I had a friend write it. it was removed due to piracy concerns. that's one of the only things I can think of that's missing from my tutorials. that and sprx editing of the internal flash. ;)

Well..
You could write a tut about resigning eboot for games released before 3.55 came out... .
If someone does not have Internet to update the game or for the few games that never got any updates since 3.55, the game gives a black screen.
The tut would be legitimate & not dealing with piracy at all...

If it was about fixing your backed up legally owned discs, but don't want to update to latest version. That wouldn't be piracy would it?

don't know. I tried to make a case for it, but it was up to the admins. I can see ur point though.

Thanks for telling me about how to install the ps3 tools cause i didnt know. Ill try to install it that way. Do you have links to ps3 tools 4.81 & Trueancestor? i dont know where to find them at all. Also i think that was my problem with the download Blus version is that i downloaded the game to my fat32 & it didnt download all of the files due to the restriction. Im redownloading to a ntfs & trying this method out, but another problem ivd noticed since installing ferrox is that i can no longer connect via ftp (Filezilla is what i use on pc) & ccapi 2.70 no longer works on ps3. ive opened irisman ftp & i didnt connect as well as multiman. How can i ftp on Ferrox?

Hi i am experiencing another problem @bguerville I got my game to work with all the DLC installed & i was able to load it via irisman & multiman. However, when i use PSN Patch before going online then i load the game up then go to sign in i get "bad request" error & when i go online 1st then load up the game i get a black screen. I only have this problem with this 1 game & im sick of this game having so many problems! I had got this error before when downloading ReactPSN, but i deleted it & was able to go onlinr again, so what could be the problem with my game now?

This is the only game with which you can't connect to the game servers? What game is that? It suggests an issue with the game itself & not with the system. No idea what could have happened with reactpsn.. We would need more details & testing to figure it out, as it is, it could also be a coincidence...
You could try using SEN Enabler 6.0.3 instead of psnpatch, it should not make a difference but who knows?

r u using any of the mods? that's the impose plugin screen. if there r white rectangles flashing, that means the icons have extended into one another causing a graphical glitch. I've seen it happen before when messing with the impose plugin.

No its not a game server issue, its a psn sign in issue. I use psn patch then i load up the game via irisman offline, it works but then when i go to sign in to PSN i get a "Bad Request" error. When i sign in 1st before loading up the game im able yo sign in, but i get a black screen when loading the game. With any of my other games i dont have this problem. I installed it in "GAMES" folder into the ps3 harddrive & clicked BD MIRROR in irisman, but again everything goes good until signing in :( Also do you know why Ferrox cannot connect via ftp? if so please tell me how cause i havent been able to since upgrading from Rebug

We had no problems to connect via FTP with 1.01+ by Webman.
For the glitch image, you can post a picture? I am not aware that there is this bug.

What do you mean you use psnpatch then load the game with Irisman? Homebrews are never to be used after triggering psnpatch as syscalls are disabled?
Can you please describe the whole process with details & use exact words like mounting & launching game rather than "load with Irisman"..?
Also you say you cannot connect to ftp since you updated to Ferrox? Are you starting a ftp server though? A CFW does not include a ftp server, in Rebug, webMAN-MOD is generally installed & offers ftp, have you installed webMAN-MOD, is ftp enabled in the setup page? Or have you activated the Irisman ftp server? Or a standalone ftp server like blackb0x's?

Finally if it's a psn issue like you suggest & not a game server problem, then connecting to PSN after mounting the game BUT before launching the game does what exactly?

the problem of the black screen can be solved by rebuilding the database and filesystem in recovery mode.
