PS3 4.81 OVERFLOW CFW Collection ( Standard CEX / NO-BD / COBRA 7.3 / DualBoot) v1.00

B's don't have the card reader or Wi-Fi. you need to populate hardware for the Wi-Fi but card reader is plug and play once you hex edit the FW to reflect as an A model.
Yeah got a B model I just finished flashing here now. No memory card reader and no wifi antenna.

So Cech-B features are, Full BC, SACD (also audiophile scph-1001 user here :p), and card reader after idps hack. Plus awesome black case! Man is hard to find one in east europe, but if I find one. I buy it, for now my cech-c is all I have. Still happy, more than where i had slim one. :)

You flash NANDs?

Dude I have told you I can hook you up getting your wanny unbricked.

Yea but like you said you can add the card reader and also the Wi-Fi board. You have to populate some components on the B-01 and use Rebug toolbox to reflect it showing as an A-01 for the Wi-Fi to show up in the internet settings but they can totally become a retrofitted A-01 and keep the awesome all black casing. That case is why I bought my B-01 over another A-01 as I hate that chrome trim.

no_BD is useless if app/home is disable, i have a broken BD installed the V3 nobd all is good
but when launching the game in multiman and exiting to XMB its a dead end

.. btw nice to have people not leaving ps3 scene and making great releases like this

app_home exists though, right?
Check in Irisman or webMAN-MOD file manager, it should be listed along /dev_hdd0, /dev_flash...
If it's there, all you need to do is edit category_game.xml in /dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/xmb to add app_home to the xmb.

ok will try this one. category_game.xml is in queue

app_home folder dont exist in dev_hdd0 or dev_flash should i add it?

irisman mounts the game automatically.. thanks no need to edit xml's just use irisman if your using this CFW forget about multiman

No not in /dev_hdd0!
If it's there, app_home should appear as a drive just like /dev_hdd0.
If you open a file manager, at the system root you should have /dev_flash, /dev_flash2, dev_hdd0, app_home & external drives as /dev_usbxxx or ntfsxxx. Open the Irisman file manager or use webMAN-MOD File browser.

I dunno what playerkp420 did regarding app_home so you need to check if it exists. If it does not, you cannot create it as a folder unfortunately. You may need to use mfwbuilder & patch the cfw then reinstall it. Or use another cfw like Ferrox 4.81 v1.01 & patch it for noBD

Hi i'm new to this comunity, I updated to overflow from bobby_downgrades when it was released, actually I use the no bd one due to broken bd, but neither multiman or irismanager load games, both return to xmb and nothing happens, can someone bring me some light?
thank you

Have you read post #108 to #111 ?
This is the problem we were talking about... Am still not sure what Bobby meant by app_home not added & @xxdylanxx never reported about app_home existing or not in the file manager... If you wanna look..

Yes, i did, but i'm not a pro like you guys, some technical details i do not understand, it is weird that is the only cfw 4.81 with no bd,, hopefully soon there is a solution , I even tried to downgrade to be able to get ferrox 4.80 no bd but my system say that it didn't find any firmware compatible when i tried,,
so i guess we have to wait and hope that , they find a solution soon,,
btw if you use irisman file explorer there is a folder app_home that cannot be opened nor edited 0bites,

It's normal that app_home cannot be opened or edited & showing 0byte if you haven't mounted a game.
If you can see app_home in Irisman then it's easy. All you would need to do is edit the category_game.xml file in /dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/xmb & uncomment (or add if they were removed) the 2/3 xml parts related to app_home.
Once you edited the xml file & replaced the original with it, app_home will appear on XMB for you to start the game without disc icon.

Am not home so I don't have the stuff needed to extract the xml file from the PUP.
Could you copy it from your console, using ftp or USB, then attach it to your next post? This way, I (or someone else) could edit the xml for you, if you don't have a clue about any of this.

In the meantime, you could already check if mounting your games work though. Use Irisman 4.81.
Mount a JB game using the right emulator settings. Irisman will exit. Start Irisman again & use the file manager to see if app_home can be opened. If your game mounted properly, app_home should show your game files.

You could not downgrade to Ferrox 4.80 noBD? Is QA enabled on your console? If not, you cannot downgrade directly.

How can i copy it from ftp or usb?? .. my console should be QA enabled done it on 3.55. what happened is i Used 9.99 spoofer and i think for this reason i cannot downgrade.. i read many forums on the past about downgrading with rogero downgrader and so on.. no one downgrade why no clue.. but i want to figure it out.. i would like to learn more about now that i have way to much time free..

if you or someone could show me how to extract that folder with ftp.. i could give you access straight to my pc and edit it? right!

My BD rom till what i know is fine.. one time I opened the system to dust it out and replace the thermal on it! and i broke the clip on my ps3 board that hold the cable from the bd to the main board.. so now when the power supply sit literally on top don't stay so it doesn't read..
if it was a way to fix that i would be able to run any cfw without the bd bypass..

BTW i read somewhere that any cfw can be patched to work with bd bypass.. can you throw some info about it? it is possible for real? what is needed? or where can i start with that?

Many questions probably .. anyway .. thank a lot for your help and patience

A lot of questions...

Regarding ftp. Usually people use the ftp server included in webMAN-MOD but you are not using Cobra so I assume you are not using webMAN-MOD either.
Never mind there is a ftp server in Irisman. Look at the tools when you press the Start button.
Once the ftp server is started, just use your pc, smartphone whatever device on your lan, then open ftp://ps3-ip-address/ in a ftp client. On Windows, the Explorer would do just fine, no need to install a ftp client.
Copy the xml file you need then post it here. I don't want access to your Pc & you should never offer access to your pc or your ps3 to people you do not know anyway!! Unless you are looking for problems....
When you will get the edited version of the xml, you will need to replace it on the PS3 & to write to /dev_flash which is read only, you must enable /dev_blind which is basically another name for writable /dev_flash. You can enable /dev_blind with Irisman as well.

In 4.xx, you should never use a 999 spoofer to connect to PSN. Best way to get banned + it will mess with other things.
That's the reason why you can't downgrade anymore except with special downgraders for instance.
Remove this spoofer at once! You should have removed it before updating CFW anyway.

You broke the clip on the PS3 motherboard, is it completely off?
Can you still plug the ribbon in it & maybe use tape or whatever to hold it in place?
What console model is it? CECHxxxx?

Yes you can bypass the BD if you are on CFW. All you need to do is use MFWBuilder to patch any CFW to noBD. The resulting pup will install.
But if you don't have a logic board (BD Controller card) attached, you would need to use BDEMU as well.
It depends on your console model, if there is a card under the BD drive & you can't connect the ribbon, you probably need BDEMU. Something like this Rebug 4.80.1 BDEMU.
https://mega.nz/#!KFoR1QjS!abNThzVuj3XNfj_FSzaaWxpFpR6v6Cyq-vm5B86WA4Q
(you must remove the 999 spoofer to install this directly or downgrade using a downgrader then upgrade again...)

I'm not at home right now ,, Ill be there by 6 pm est
then i can answer the model number and so on.. i will update as soon as possible the info that you requested..
One thing i have for sure my bd rom do not have an external board like the most recent versions..
and yes the clip went completely off .. Tape i guess is not enough to hold the ribbon to the board.
I spoofed my system with sen enabler.. what is better remove sen enabler or just the 9.99..?

If the logic board is integrated then it is a slim & you are in luck. If the clip is gone, the only option involves soldering... You can leave it as is though. You should not need BDEMU, a noBD pup should be sufficient.

Yes use SEN Enabler to remove the 999 spoofer. Next time, read the SEN documentation more thoroughly though because 999 spoofer was made for testing reasons or for specific situations. If you used PSN with it, you might want to check that your account did not get banned...

Yes fself files such as eboots will run, It's very simple really, the lv0 returns a no to dex game files when they run (eboots), so my lv0 returns yes which allows cex to run a dex file, then it's just a case of patching out the loading errors such as 017 and 009 which are caused later on in the loading process,

The packages available for download are some packages such as psn patch, ps ninja and some packages made by myself such as an xmb editor and the toolbox for my cfw and also a spoofer pkg that i release for cfw users on my cfw,

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean by enhanced remote play, The conventional patches have been made to support remote play including from disc,

I have removed the "update via internet" with "Do not update via internet !" and also replaced the "There has been a system update would you like to update now" with "Sony has released a new update, if you update online you will lose your jailbreak, do you want to lose your jailbreak", this is to stop noobs losing their jb,

Yes, the download option in the install packages will allow the user to download pkgs from the same update list as whats new only it will download the pkg to usb, helpful for people who do not use a pc/laptop, younger users i guess,

The nas plugin has been patched to allow installation of pkgs signed both as debug and npdrm, not that anyone who makes homebrew bothers officially signing their pkgs anymore lol,

We spoke on this before, what files were is again that you edited for the system updates? If you happen to recall the thread itself would be amazing as I seem to have forgotten to bookmark it.
