    • Put in the pendrive in the PS3
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

Not afaik.
Using custom syscalls when playing online is one of the risky practices often leading to PSN bans that the new setup is trying to protect everyone against.

I would assume that to modify the current behaviour you could mod the xai_plugin source or the Cobra 8.4 source & replace their binaries in /dev_flash with newly compiled modded versions.

Logging in to PSN with CFW syscalls enabled is a risk and your console and/or PSN account can be banned.

Evilnat implemented this security measure in the CFW to protect your system.
This security is also implemented in webMAN MOD.

You can disable this protection deleting the following files:
/dev_blind/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck
/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_res/npsignin_plugin.rco

Then reboot... However, it is NOT RECOMMENDED to delete these files!!

If you want to play online without that protection, you better install the Dual Boot firmware below or use HFW without enable HEN.
Download: HFW 4.88 Dual Boot firmware for PS3 already on CFW CEX
Same as Littlebalup's 4.88 DB, but with silk_webkit.sprx from 4.82 to allow install ps3xploit (HEN)

Thanks for the help appreciate it im not too worried about being banned my old account was banned years ago by my kid talking trash talking so I lost all my dlcs so im using one's I got off the web to play with some old military buddies in custom matches and would running Dual fw allow me to run those dlc rifs if I don't actually own them I own the disc just not the dlc anymore unfortunately and wanted get in few matches zombies and custom matches

If you go ahead with this, you should expect to get both your console idps banned & your PSN account burnt.

Also as a quick reminder from the moderation team, piracy or piracy related talks are not tolerated on this forum.
Refer to the "Site rules & guidelines" thread if you are unclear with our rules.

Hey can anyone tell my why non of the cod mod menus work and also for bf? The one for bo1 is called deception it shows up but game freezes when ever I start a game or join one. I also have a ps3 hen and these mods work fine. Plz help

Not to worried about the ban got a lot of psps to use if it got console banned and the psn is a fake account anyways and sorry was unaware of that was an issue

Because the mods use custom syscalls & Evilnat's CFW does not allow custom syscalls while PSN is connected.

Makes since cause it tells me to disable then if I want to sign in to psn.
Using custom syscalls when connecting/connected to PSN is one of the riskiest practices causing bans and only game mods might need to use custom syscalls during gaming.

As most game mods are made for DEX & cannot be used on CEX anyway, to protect the greatest majority from making mistakes & getting banned accidentally, Evilnat rightly decided to prevent custom syscalls use by default when PSN is used.

Now of course there are few exceptions, some game mods for CEX are impacted by the new system.
It has been deemed acceptable though because there are few CEX mods overall & as most of us consider that mods should not be used online anyway, I suppose Nat may not have been particularly bothered by it all & more importantly, this CFW brought dozens of new features, not everything can be perfect, not every use case can be foreseen, it's only normal with practice to find some problems or limitations that were not expected or considered during development, this could be one of them..

Now if some game mod users still wish to use mods, requiring custom syscalls online with custom servers dedicated to modding, they can always use the trick @aldostools just posted in post #2265, after making those changes & rebooting, connecting to PSN should no longer need custom syscalls to be disabled & the cex mods should no longer crash. Like I said before though, expect your console IDPS & the PSN account to get banned at some point.

Note also that it would be quite easy to add an extra XMB item in CFW Tools menu with a simple xml edit & recompile xai_plugin with a new function to perform the trick aldostools posted about automatically. You would be able to toggle on/off the PSN connection lock system.
Alternatively wMM can be used to lock/unlock too.

I see no obvious reason for a cex game mod sprx not to work offline when custom syscalls are enabled.
Did it work before on other CFWs?
If so, which ones?
If not, you would need to post specific details, as many as possible, about the mod & the way you set it up if you wish to get help, and you should probably create your own thread for that in the sub forum related to Gta or COD.

Yeah it works fine on my hen ps3. With no problems and its cex as well
I don't use that kind of mods so I am not the best person to help with this as I don't really know what the usual issues might be etc..

How is this sprx mod menu file supposed to load? With boot_plugins.txt when the system boots like other vsh menu projects (cobra plugins)?

When/how does the menu get displayed? With a pad combo?

Oh well a sprx menu with games like gta,cod etc require a eboot to execute the sprx for that game. Both have to be compatible with each other. Like for instance bles version of bo1 you need a bles version eboot of the game update. And the sprx file has to be fitted with that version of the eboot. And the same goes with blus. This is the way I did it years ago when I had a jailbreak.

That sounds like old fashioned game modding then. Nowadays some devs make some vsh menus for certain things so I wasn't sure what we were talking about.

And you have the source code of the mod?
If you did, you could add code to it to help you debug any issue.

Is the problem only with the sprx menu not showing on screen & the game loads fine? Or nothing at all loads in that setup?

How are those executables signed?
Did you sign them yourself or you just downloaded them & use them all as is, for HEN & for this CFW?

When I experience a problem with an app on a Cobra CFW & I don't have the source code to modify or any leads on the problem, the first thing I usually check is the Cobra Debug logs which logs attempts to load a file, errors that may occur, etc.. and crash outputs when the system freezes as well as tty console output to help with debugging.
But getting that info requires temporarily swapping the stage2.bin file in /dev_flash with a debug build then using socat on your PC to listen to the debug broadcast over the network.
If you are motivated to try to find answers & don't mind spending time doing it, we could help you set it up.
But it might be simpler for you to ask game modders or game mod users about this, you are probably not the first to experience this problem. It's up to you.
Whatever you choose to do, if ever you find the cause of the problem & it is CFW related, report it so the issue can get fixed in the next build or update.

i updated firmware from 4.82 (rebug) to this, on my FAT ps3 model ..
everything is working fine else, except when you leave the console idle for long enough,
the screen turns black and it locks up completely.
the only way to process after that is to use the power switch behind the fat model, to turn it off/on, and then restart the console..
also, the latest webman mod locks up the console, when choosing from "VSH Menu for webMAN" the option "Refresh XML" ..
again i have to force shutdown+restart ..
