After reading some posts on several websites, (this one excluded) it seems most people prefer the original slim model the most. Even some preferring the super slim to an original fat model.
They say the fat models are less reliable. The one I have is almost 14 years old and works without any issues aside from maybe some software introduced by CFW.
People also say similar things about the fat model 360's. Both of these two consoles I have were produced somewhere around mid 2008. The 360 I got was new. Though it is the second one as I accidentally knocked the first one over while playing a game (this was before the install game feature was introduced in a later firmware) and the disc drive got damaged where it would scratch discs while playing them. It had to be exchanged for another new one.
The fat PS3 I have was bought used in early 2021. It worked great then, and it works great now.
Is it that some people have issues with these models and assume all models like it will suffer the same fate?
I prefer to stay positive on this subject.
