PS3 HAN Are you able to get Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas to work with HAN???

Hey everyone FALLOUT NEW VEGAS now RUNS on my system. The game is working great. The attempt that finally worked for me was to use my usual method where I edited the Param (same as always) and replaced the eboot (same as always) but instead I used the PS3 game convert exe provided in the description of this youtube video that was linked earlier in this thread. It seems it was the version of PS3 Game Convert that I use currently and CFW2OFW that were causing the game to get the disc read error. Love this community guys.

I've always resigned those as well, i find it a lot more convenient to just enable han and have it work for all games rather than making a note of which games to enable or disable it for

You don't gotta enable Han to play the signed cfw2ofw games anyways. Even if they are signed, you don't need to enable Han they will still launch. Don't know where that guy got the idea that resigning cfw2ofw converts will require Han to be enabled in order to launch them. They work exactly the same as they do with backup injection. Least in my case. During initial setup, I don't recall ever injecting the signed_act.dat / idps.hex either, not sure if that has something to do with it. All my games work lol.

If you are still running into trouble, perhaps I could edit the param.sfo for you and send it to you some how. Maybe that would help. Not sure if mods will have an issue with that but whatever. I just want to help, pretty much no one helped me when I was trying to get this game running a few months back. Eventually noticed someone found a method on the ps3dev wiki and I tried it out and it worked.

EDIT:

Nevermind, see you got it working. I'm happy for you man, enjoy the game!

Yeah I just edited my post after I noticed that lol. Glad you got the game working dude, just beware, once you get to a certain point of progress in the game, it will start glitching / freezing every now and again. I've had some bits where the game was literally running at 0 - 1FPS while getting attacked by bark scorpions lmao. Make sure to manually save frequently. It's not quite as awful as it was with Fallout 3, but it still renders the game unplayable in some cases. I personally thought having the game installed to the hard drive without the need for a disc would've somehow solved the freezing issues. It didn't lol.

I love new Vegas it's my favorite. I'm doing a big guns run this time (except they removed big guns and just made it guns)

Yeah, I've been investing all of my stats into barter and speech lol. I've been playing with energy weps this time. Took a stealth boy and looted all of the cool energy weapons from the silver rush lmao. I personally enjoyed the atmosphere in Fallout 3 a bit more, I just remember it got so glitchy that I couldn't even finish playing the DLC's without having to restart my ps3 every 15 minutes. PC's probably better for Fallout, but I'm a couch gamer and I enjoy my flat screen TV more than sitting at a desk getting a headache from focusing on a 22" monitor.

sadly thats true, fallout 3 goty and fallout new vegas ultimate edition are defective products on ps3. both games turn into an slideshow because of dlcs. i highly recommend to play the regular versions without installing dlcs or install only 1 dlc and once you complete it delete it and install another. for fallout 3 i basically only recommend broken steel dlc because extends the main story and allow you to free roam once you complete the game, the other dlc are a bit forgettables and laggy. i finally did in this way and played both games flawlessly with only some ocasional freeze but smooth

I agree HAN mode is not required to play resigned CFW2OFW PKGs but what you all said there about not needing act.dat or idps.hex is why there is no reason to fake-resign CFW2OFW converts because that just wastes minutes and power to resign files upwards of 4GB sizes (imagine resigning 14GB to 20GB of PKGs!) while there is no real benefit.
One just needs Debug PKG mode to install debug/unsigned PKGs but not Official Sony PKGs.

CFW2OFW converts make use of the LIC.DAT licences in retail discs so resigning a PKG with your PS3's matching act.dat and idps.hex is not needed.

* PS3GameConvert is more reliable than CFW2OFW Helper because friendlyanon (aka Kuso or helloiamsomeone) author of CFW2OFW Helper admitted it was their first C# project. friendlyanon also applied logic from PS3GameConvert to their app starting from version 5+.

i installed the game with the french update version , but only menu and text language became french the audio still in spanish , language the is a way to change it ?

I'm not sure really, you might not be able to change the audio language. You might need a different copy of the game.

Hello I have tried to get Fallout New Vegas Ultimate edition to work I'm able to install it but when i launch it I get an error message saying (80010006)

I managed to install fallout new vegas ultimate. I was wondering if anyone was able or has attempted to mod the game by adding .esp files and editing the .ini file? I've tried a lot of times but it never seems to work.

Yes, u can i just have Skyrim in my PS3, just go check some tutorials in youtube and u will know how, u need to convert PS3 Game Folder to PKG its not hard just go check some tutorials.

You should be able to as the vanilla versions don't need any special patching to make them work. The mods would go in one of the DLC folders when you are converting the for HAN. For Skryrim its best to put them in the Dragonborn DLC, thought hey will work in any DLC folder.

Did you add mods.edat on game data ?

You do not need that, HAN will not accept it as it is not a proper official signed edat file and they normally come with the ELITE editions of the games to improve compatibility of the mods. Most Bethesda games will run mods on there original Vanilla states, just add the mod to a DLC folder and try.

But some of the mods will not work if they require things the PC versions of the mods need in order to run that cannot be found on PS3 as they are not compatible or need CFW to run. But Mods that just have BSA, ESM ans ESP files should run, only edit the INI file if the mods don't work and add the ESM or ESP file to it.

Is that due to load order or something similar? Being as Dragonborn is the final DLC and so would be loaded last like it is on PC - bar any installed mod plugins, of course.

okay I'll try adding mods for skyrim to the dlc folder. The thing is with Fallout NVUE there is no dlc folder. All the dlc is in the DATA folder. Any suggestions?
