PS3 Can't downgrade on 4.88/4.89 Evilnat CFW

I never had any problems with Rebug. Maybe I should try using rebug toolbox?
that is what i always use.

HERE is my pup install guide. look in the "if you have problems" tab. try the part about unplugging the controller.

if that does not work, look at the rest of tab/ guide.

BTW what is your model number? cech-???

Ok so I think I firgured out what the problem was, I was trying to install a lower OFW on top of a higher CFW (even tho QA flag was ENABLED)??? I don't know if that's normal or not. So what I did was downgrade from Evilnat 4.89 to Rebug 4.84. Then from there, I installed Rebug 3.55. Finally I installed OFW 3.55. It worked perfectly. Maybe something for the Evlinat Dev to look into?

I've done this already, the xmb doesn't show any update and in recovery it says data corrupted. I think QA flag doesn't work properly on Evilnat. I never had any problems with Rebug. Maybe I should try using rebug toolbox?

Check with the QA flag button combo to verify it is enabled.
Check the MD5 of the CFW so that it won't give you data corruption error. Change the flash drive to a different one again repeat the steps and install from recovery mode.

It's very strange that you are not allowed to install OFW on top of CFW, but very good that you sort it out in the end!.

Here is a mini tutorial to check for Debug Update settings and enable that feature if you don't have it: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/downgrading-to-very-old-ofw-from-new-cfw.38458/#post-347332.

It's recommended to have it enabled and use it to move between FWs, way easier (as you can have multiple FWs to choose from, with user friendly names), faster and more stable than using USB drives.
