It seems like it's mainly a 1002 error which usually indicates a bad TOKIN Capacitor, but I have 0 soldering knowledge so before I tried taking it somewhere where they could replace those for me I figured I would ask if there is any other nuances to the code when running CFW.

For me this error seems to occur most often when trying to run disc backups through the aforementioned software. I'll get some amount of the way through playing when it will suddenly shut off, beep three times, and begin the flashing red light. I just recently upgraded to a brand new 1tb hdd, had the system fully cleaned and the thermal paste replaced, and temps never exceed 70C on the RSX. When I run the same games just off of the disc, the error does not occur. Although in rare cases it will also happen on the XMB shortly after startup. (It happened more often there when I still had WebManMod installed).

Hopefully this gives enough information to help diagnose the issue. If I need to get the capacitors replaced I will but hopefully that is a last resort.

The main games I've tested are LittleBigPlanet2, LittleBigPlanetKarting, and GodOfWar Collection. Although strangely Oblivion seems to work perfectly fine for long stretches of time either as a backup or a disc.

For anyone seeing this post in the future, I ended up having to replace the TOKIN capacitors on the bottom of the board. And now things seem to be running fine.

I want to highlight the tantalacer mod board as a solution to the problem, as it was easy to find on eBay and if you know your way around a soldering iron you could make one yourself:
https://github.com/carlosbragatto/PS3-TantalACEr-PCB/blob/main/README.md

The custom pcb replaces two of the TOKIN capacitors with 6 tantalum capacitors, which should be more reliable
