CFW 4.76 ferrox UPDATE

Hello guys

A couple of years ago I had the original PS3 60Gb that was PS2 compatible. It runned 3.55 with a PS3KEY and I played games with multiman etc. The PS3 had YLOD and so the story ended.

Now we're years later and I bought another fat PS3 (CECHK04) for a good price. It runs CFW ferrox 4.76 with nothing on it.

Can you guys please tell me what's the best I do now? How can I safely upgrade to the newest CFW and how do I make a backup so I can recover my PS3 from a brick?

First thing to do: Install Rebug Toolbox and dump your ERK, also get your Console ID (IDPS + PSID). And enable QA.

If you plan to play online, you should upgrade to CFW 4.87 Ferrox or 4.87 Evilnat. You can do it directly.

If you don't plan to play online, Rebug 4.84.2 REX is the most advanced CFW at the moment.
Rebug 4.86.1 Lite is a good option too.

Regularly backup your saves and licenses. NOR models usually can be recovered just formatting the HDD, unless you hard brick it,

I made a backup from my Nor and upgraded to Rebug 4.84.2 REX, installed multimen and it just works fine. I'm feeling like I'm back 15 and in high school.
