CFW Extras Category

PS3 "CFW Extras" XMB Category (v1.00) - See Video & Download of this new impressive mod by DeViL303 v1.0.1

Installed a addon to extra instead of game and the disable addon isn't working. Is there a way to delete it so i can put it on a different section in xmb?

Hi, there is a way to do it manually, but it should work in the disable addon section. What you need to do is press triangle on the addon you want to remove, and select "delete". then reboot to see your changes. There is nothing that can really stop this from working, this "unlink" method would even work on OFW.

My congratulations DeVIL for more this project :)
I am very fan of your works.
Before installing,I would like you to explain some things to me, please.
I read that Whats New was replaced by Whats New on PSX-Place, so I wanted to know if after I Installing the CFW Extras Category I'm going to can install the Launchpad? The Launchpad will be replaced by Whats New on PSX-Place? Another question is about the webMAN MOD. Is there any problem installing the CFW Extras Category with the webMAN already installed on PS3? ,thank you so much

Hi Ricardo, at the moment there is no way to have Launchpad and this installed at the same time. I decided to leave Launchpad out due to the release of sman/slaunch as those are much more responsive, dont require complicated xmls to be generated for the game list, don't need psn or internet connection etc. Tbh I am not sure if I will ever get back to this project, been fairly busy with real life lately. Maybe me or someone will release an update someday..

As for webman, yes it will work fine with your webman that is already installed, actually it requires you to have webman already installed, this only installs the XMB entry.

Thanks a lot DeVIL for the information, if I understood correctly, the CFW Extras Category just adds input to the new tab? As a quick, but clear shortcut with lots of news. So if I also install the webMAN package that is inside CFW Extras, it will it show the same webMAN that I have in the game tab? Just install version 1.01 or do I need to have the 1.00 as a base?

If you watch the video you will see, after install you will have no custom items on your xmb (except What's new on psx-place), but yes you are right, it will show the same webman that is currently showing in your game tab, it will not touch your webman sprx or setup,so if it was disabled it will remain disabled, it it was updated it will stay updated etc. But it will remove the xmb entry from game, So after installing this you can choose to add the webman xmb entry back to game, or CFW extras or both. You don't need to install 1.00, just use 1.01. Good luck, have fun. :)

I tried this out, as it seems just great. However, I can't seem to get the icons installed. Are they supposed to change all icons, or just a select few?
I'm on Rebug Cobra 4.81.2

When you change the icons inside this it will only change the modified/custom icons, but if you enable XMBPD, then you can go in to the theme download section and you should see 2 matching themes, Metalification and Rebugification by Berion, downloading and enabling those themes will change the rest of the OFW icons to match. After download you need to go to the settings category and enable the theme like you normally would on OFW.

WARNING:

Guy, Really sorry about this, hope no one else has been affected: Today I was made aware of a bug in CFW Extras Category..It is a serious bug,..luckily enough it is not something that people do very often, that is why it has not come up until now: It involves the CFW tools addon (aka CFW Settings) and the Factory Service Mode option. If you enter factory service mode via CFW Tools XMB icon in my mod, it will enter it fine, but it breaks the CFW Tools XMB item, so you cant enter back into the menu to disable it , Then if you reinstall CFW to fix this issue you will get RSOD error and brick as you cant install FW from FSM. I have now corrected this by removing the FSM option in my mod (if you need FSM mode uninstall my mod and use the built in CFW tools), please anyone using this, go to the CFW Extras setup item, and redownload the CFW Tools addon.

I am going to do my best to make this right. If you end up in FSM and cant get out, do NOT reinstall FW, it can be fixed by using the installer for this to uninstall the mod.

I just discover with lot of late your work !!! Not all at moment. it's just ceazy.
XMBPD was enouth bigger but here is... No words, because never seen that before!
Why I said Creazy.

Edit : I got the word (same in french) "Majistral "

webMAN MOD, just a note webMAN MOD full has a sMAN like interface called sLaunch

Here's the thing, I've been backing up my games in PKG format and since they show in the XMB, I've got no need for the webManMod folder which is why I'm looking to switch to sMan.

When you install this you can choose not to add the webman folder. It's a separate optional add on. So you can have the plugin with out the xmb item. Still can't use sMan though. Slaunch is just as good imo.

Thanks man, glad you like it :D

There are some cool ideas in it that others could use maybe, the new downloading method for pkgs etc, also us xmb modders should try to come up with a standard, so our mods are compatible with each other.

Btw If you look at category xmls you will see I added lots of extra slots, so you can move an addon (Or create a new one) into photo category for example, just by renaming the addons xml. ;)
