PS2 Corrupted save file over HDD spindown in POPStarter

So I have a soft-modded ps2, with an HDD, FHDB, OPL and POPStarter installed.

Everything works fine, except for when I leave the game unattended for too long and (I assume) the HDD does a spin down and when I eventually resume the game, it takes a while the first time it needs to load something (say I talk to an NPC or change screen) and sometimes it doesn't and the game softlocks into a black screen.

The other day I was playing Digimon World 1 for the PS1 on the POPstarter emulator and left it unattended again, I then rememberd about it, but no longer had time to play, so I decided to just save the game and turn off the console. When I eventually turned it back on, my save file was "gone". I then went into uLauncher and backed up the save folder.

This is what's left of the save folder, is it salvageable? And how do I (or should I) remove this spin down feature?
Thanks.

As I said here, in assumption this game using more than one block, save is not possible to recovering because whole card is damaged (probably only cut, attached file have 16KiB, while should 128KiB). One block, means 8KiB so it would be possible to get out save just by extracting it from this blob.

Ok, so what can I do to prevent something like this from happening in the future? Is there an option to disable spin down?
I found one in OPL but I think it's just for ps2 games.

I didn't answer to that because I don't know. Your best shot is disabling sleep on HDD fw level via hdparm.
