Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help with my problem please.
I did a data transfer from ps3 to another ps3, both ps3s are running D-REX 4.84.
All the games that I have transferred from the original ps3 to the other 2nd ps3 will not run through multi man, ps1 ps2 ps3 games on the HDD.
What I am trying to achieve is to upgrade the original ps3 with a 1TB HDD and then data transfer back from the second ps3 then back again to the original ps3 without having to FTP the games over again, or
is there a way to clone the hard drive without losing any information? as I tried to but I couldn't find a way in doing it. Any help or advice would be much appreciated Thankyou

@RoboKing's Cosmos Clonezilla is a Linux distribution. For backup purposes, it using four applications: ntfclone, partclone, partimage and dd (user decide which). Kernel supporting only known partition tables, while PS3 using custom one (but it doesn't matter anyway because it is encrypted). nfsclone support only ntfs and both left apps any supported by kernel file systems. Cloning means cloning only data in file system tables written, so all e.g deleted will be omitted and all existed, recreated on target disk or image, with cloned, created or cloned and fixed to new boundary partition table. None of this tasks is possible because in case of PS3 HDD almost whole is encrypted, so for Clonezilla it is unknown structure. For unknown structures, only left dd which making sector by sector copy. But this also means that if You copy i.e 500gB disk to 1tB disk, You still end with 500gB disk on 1tB HDD with 500gB not written to partition table. So there is no sense doing it, or at least not much.

Define "cloning".

Cloning is not possible other than making sector by sector copy from one disk, and write it to another.

Define "data transfer".

I didn't think cloning of the hard drive was possible

That makes sense i take it then it would be best to start again on the 1TB HDD

You don't have choice. Copy stuff from first environment, and move it to the second by hand. You can use BDU or DTU but they are not trustworthy and have some limits anyway.

DEX OFW/CFW users can use developers option somewhere in XMB to move data to another HDD connected to USB, but I don't know how it works. I never use it, and don't even know if works at all on CEX converted to DEX consoles.
