Hi all just wanted to see if anyone can help. I bought a PS3 Test console DECHJ00J without a hard drive. I've put a new hard drive into the system. It's says it's currently on firmware 2.16 and needs to update to reformat and install the firmware. I've put the update firmware on to a usb PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP but it won't detect the update just says no data found
this is what the console says
The system software is not working properly. Press the PS button to restart.
If you try restarting and it does not start up properly, you will need to format the system area of your hard disk and reinstall the system software. Connect the recording media containing version 2.16 or higher update data and press the START button and SELECT button at the same time.
