yesterday when i turn on my ps3 slim i opened a fan control app then the ps3 had a yellow light then i turned it off then and i turned it on and it back to green light can someone enplane to me why that happen also the ps3 fan has 2 broken blades

as always......

you have webman-mod installed right? then if yes then that's normal.
that led color sequence you see that only tells that webman is successfully loaded.

So let me get this right, you powered your PS3 on. Then opened a fan control app to regulate temps and fan speed correct? If yes what did you set your fan to? If u set it to low your PS3 overheated causing ylod scenario. I always use webman and regulate my PS3 temps that way. I've used fan control before but i upgraded to wmm for simplicity and constant fan/temp regulation at boot time over whenever the thing loads the xmb time to navigate to the fan control app and time to set my temps.. and yes if I use wm or wmm then you will notice at plugin launch during boot as soon as wm gets loaded it flashes your led from green/yellow/green/yellow/green to signal wm/wmm loaded properly.

i do have fan app but isn't not webman i do use it because i have 2 broken blades fan and it gives me low speed and low wind so i use that program to rice up the fan speed

Webman searches the games directories on boot. Thats the green/yellow light your referring to. It doesnt mean its ready but that its reading the directories.

Use the one built into webman. I think the other is the issue

The missing fan blades generates a vibration, that vibration is transfered to the heatsink, and from there to CELL/RSX and his BGA solder balls

So dont get surprised if you have a YLOD eventually :rolleyes:

Any updates on this?
Did you get the issue resolved if so what worked for you.

right now no issues but i saw that yellow color again

i know that but i use fan app to give a good speed to the fan soon i'll buy a new one

Increasing the speed doesnt solves the problem i was mentioning
By increasing the speed you are increasing the vibration, so you are making it worst and more prone to YLOD

i know that i took the risk but today i'm going to buy a new fan but how i can know that fan is fit with my ps3

Take the fan with you to the shop, or measure his diameter and tell it to the selller, in the "PS3 familly" there are only 4 groups of retail fans and as far i know are compatible with each others of the same diameter:

14cm = PS3 fats
10cm = PS3 slims CECH-20xx, 21xx, and 25xx
8cm = PS3 slim CECH-30xx
7.5cm = PS3 superslims

yesterday i bought a fan and it fit and works so good but the problem is now those fans are so rare it's hard to find one
