Update: since my discovery of the idtech engine games devgui, I have found a few interesting things. If you do enable the devgui and update, the update kills the menu, devs caught wise somewhere along the line and snippet it out, still cool that it is in 1.00 of wolfenstein 2 and doom( I only updated doom so far to test, I'd assume wolf2 would follow suit. Moving on, after you update doom, there are full script cfgs for cvars and scars for each game mode, so the devgui may be remove but I have modified a few of theae vars, namely jump height just to see if it worked and it did, so my point to this is you may possible script in some mods or just cvar edits at launch time of each individual mode so, mp, coop, arcade. Which would allow you to execute any available cmd or car including setting godmode, infinte ammo, etc possibly. I did make an attempt albeit a poor quick copy paste of the PC binds for these games into the ps4 cfgs but no dice as of the updated version, I will resume and refpkg with the 1.00 on disc release of doom and shall move on to the other aforementioned games and will report any interesting things I uncover. I really hope someone with the engine knowledge can rewrite these cfgs in very fascinating and unintended ways, until then I'll be digging in my spare time.
As a side note: I did pick up wolfenstein young blood for craps n laughs just to take a peek if that one as well has any modifiable scripts or at the very
Hello there folks didn't know if anyone really tried editing cfgs in dumped games, obviously the game has to already have an ini or a cfg file. In the last few weeks that I've had a ps4 tat is exploitable and dumping games making fpkgs with injected keystone's and got it all working well but had seen that some games have these files doom has a few but there's ps4 specific default and other bindsets as well as the default_sp/mp/snap map specific engine cfgs which are plaintext. You can bind "devgui 1" to any button you want on any controller cfg you want enabling multiple options I just set my L3, which in singleplayer isn't used, to devgui 1 on the ps4 default single player cfg, remade a PKG of the whole dump which kinda is lame cuz it's 45gb and takes a long time all around dumping/pkging/installing etc, reinstalled over my old discless doom install(don't forget to inject the keystone if I want old save support after you build the fpkg), loaded up doom to my surprise no errors for file integrity or crashing pressed l3 and got a blue background menu towar the top of the screen which appears to be the devgui. Wat I discovered is if the files once dumped can be modified if you know how to edit that file type in/cfg and the game doesn't check these for integrity your good to go just edit repack keysto inject install. Probably could mod COD or other games idk but thought it was cool figured I'd share.
