I am trying to launch the applications but it just closes its self and tells me couldn't launch it self and has an error code of 8001. Please help I honestly am not an expert at this.

1. This is the wrong section to post a question. It's not a guide or a tutorial. Questions like this go into "general help and questions" or "general ps3 discussion" or the like for said respective console.
2. Nobody is going to be able to help you with the lack of detail you have given.
My suggestion is to edit your post with more information. This way you can get the help you need. Then in the future, post in the appropriate places with enough information to actually help you.

The error code you mentioned is not complete, either you cutted it, or ar you talking about other console ?
