PS3 Error final fantasy 8

I did everything right, I converted, I used the resigner, I did everything, but when I start the game he presents this error 80028f17, and the final fantasy 7 did the same procedure and it worked, only the 8 that gave this problem, does anyone know how to solve?

I had the same problem and I realized that I was copying the wrong file. Make sure you are copying the eboot and the "iso.bin.edat" and don't copy the "iso.bin.dat". Moreover, you have to write the param.sfo from the main folder and from the save folder. Look that part in this guide:

I hope this helps. PSX games have the longest process to get working, making them easier to mess up.

If all else fails, best to start from scratch and try one more time, following this guide step-by-step precisely.

I did everything right, I followed all the steps, I did the same steps with ff7 and it worked.

I haven't got around to installing FF8 yet myself, but I'll convert/install it later today and see if it replicates that error, and try to help find a fix for you.
When it's converted to eboot fomat with all of the discs packed into it. how big is the file size?
The reason I'm asking is because, there seems to be a 2gb size limit for multi-disc games with PSX2PSP.

When I convert it gets 2046 Mb or another value I can not remember, I just know it gets above 2gbs, so should there be a limit?

It's probably not the game/image's fault, the PSX2PSP program that converts the game to an eboot has a limitation from what I understand. The program can still convert the game if it's over 2gb in total (With all of the discs inside of it.), I've read that it can cause errors and black screens.
Sadly, it seems that no one has obtained an open-source version of the program, and cannot fix this limitation.

On another note, Final Fantasy 8 IS ALSO a PSN title, so you may have an alternative for installing that game.

Why don't you download the game from ***PlayStation Store*** and then resign it with your console keys? much much easier instead of doing it yourself. Although it isn't THAT intrincate to create PSX games, well, at least for me.

Go to your PSX2PSP folder\Files\Popstation src\ . You can find the following files there:

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think popstation.h is the sourcecode you're looking for.

This one did cost me a few hours when i was trying to make it work:

PSX2PSP wont convert the last disc of a 2+ gb game correctly for some reason. When i tried converting by putting the discs in the right order (1,2,3,4) in PSX2PSP the conversion wouldn't work correctly. However for some strange reason when i tried to convert the discs in the 1,2,4,3 order it worked.
But imo that was a lame solution, so i ''borrowed'' the psn pkg file from a ''friend'', and now it works with the correct disc order.

In the end I just installed FF8 starting with disc 4, then 3, 2, 1 in that order. Switching discs in-game or just backing out to the XMB and selecting the next disc wasn't too much of a difference for me. Installing them backwards and sorting my games by console allows them to display the dics in correct order. I haven't had to do any other games like this though.

so now you've 4 ff8 icons, each representing an individual disc?
