I picked up 2 PS3's the other day for cheap and one of them has YLOD; it's a CECHL01. I tried pulling codes through syscon, but they came back empty. I did some combing through this thread and think the firmware may have been corrupted. Seems like there was some liquid damage at some point, but pretty much only on the ground plane on the edge of the board. I cleaned the whole board with 99% IPA. Also, someone was definitely in here before, as there was no heatsink on the CELL or RSX. The top cover was snapped off; they didn't even remove the screw holding it on. Not too worried about fixing this console, but it seems that it is not an issue with the RSX or CELL. I can upload pictures of the board if needed, but everything looks fine to me. Probably also worth mentioning that i'm using a spare Pico Pi as a Uart adapter since I've been modding 360s for a little bit. Just new to the whole ps3 thing and this seems to be more of an uncommon issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
