PS3 Fault finding YLOD with the SYSCON - First steps and Error reporting

Them I need to use the python CMD?, I use it and I couldn't auth, I going to try, what commands I need to write plus what else can I check to see the status of console
Answered in the tutorial.
I have a question about your tantalizers, what caps I need to use and those PCBs have the internal jumper between positive and positive?
Answered in the release thread.
But to answer your question, yes it has has the +rail bridges built in. No need to worry about choosing the right size wire.

Hello Everyone!

i currently have a CECHA00 (COK-001) with Sony Serviced 40nm RSX, it worked when i tested it out, except when i put a game in the drive it would lag badly and freeze the console, it was on firmware 4.46 so i updated to 4.89 via the internet on the PS3, the download seemed to be kinda slow, well, it got to the install screen and gets to around 60% sometimes 80% before giving me error "8002F147" i have tried everything you can think of, i swapped HDD, swapped Bluray drives, wifi cards, etc to no avail. i also checked some of the components around the motherboard for shorts or open lines, everything seemed fine, and since it was working before i updated the console, like the disc drive was getting power, wifi worked, i dont think it would be that, i didnt test to see if the game would read though. im very lost here, any help would be great:)
Thanks!

It'll allow you to get messages from the PME secure services, not from the main Hypervisor code (which does things like RSX init etc.), this would require CFW.
Has anyone done that? I would be interested to see the specific RSX initialization steps and any internal logs related! RSX has been a black box as far as that goes. Besides the POS syscon initialization steps, I know very little about it.

Usually that's bad blu-ray drive, in slim model is Bluetooth/wifi needs reballing, but in your case is maybe bad BR Drive

I have a question about those codes, if I have a bad BGA on RSX, cell/BE or SouthBridge, that error always shows up no matter what?, With the GUI I got 2030-2033 (thermal sensors), only those errors, if i use python way there is any chance of show 2035?

There are no debug messages in the lv1 (hypervisor) core which is responsible for the RSX etc., that's why there's no flag for that.
You can only get debug messages from lv1 secure services: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Template:Reverse_engineering#Services .
The really useful hardware stuff (for example part of AV Manager) was removed between firmwares 0.80 and 0.90.

What error?

Are you asking if 3034 is always triggered with BGA defects? If that's what you're asking, then no. There are plenty of places the BGA can break that'll give you other errors, besides 3034.

No, my question is with BGA Errors, they show up no matter what?, the GUI syscon read give me a list with 2030-2031-2033, if I use python syscon read there is a chance of show any BGA error?

Hey all.

Quick question. I have a DIA2000 board that I ripped the RX and TX pads off, are there any alternate points I can solder to?

I'm new to everything but have done a reasonable amount of reading/youtubing (thanks RIP-Felix). I've managed to get error codes from a few other boards so it's not my first, but certainly, my first having jacked the pads to solder.

This is one of a few boards I've purchased to learn the required skills. Including hopefully a franky. Any help would be appreciated (and not wasted I promise!)

Send a pic of the damage

Apologies for the delay, I was working on two other boards which I managed to bring back to life over the last few days (not tempting fate by saying permanently just yet). Also apparently I wasn't done ripping pads on this one so there's more damage now than when I posted :blackeye:

Check the first page of this thread and look at my github repo - https://github.com/db260179/ps3syscon/blob/master/VirtualboxVM/README.md

I've created a nice linux vm that can be run from virtualbox (or any virtualisation system) - it has a simple bash syscon helper script that can help diagnose the syscon connnection issues (custom python script to connect to the serial port)

I've done this to help people struggling with the starting part, plus i prefer linux to do all of this.
Hope it helps?

Hi, on my PS3 fat i have error A0A02031, can you tell me is there any way to temporarily disable the temperature RSX chip signal (solder the ALERTs output to the ground, or else...) to find out if the PS3 will run?

i got a a0805fff error full log with time stamp the console was never taken apart before (until tomorow )had warranty seal and was just left sitting for 2-3 years. what could be the issue one of the xdr is a bit dark colored on uper side the right one below cell
Motherboard is a KTE-001.

Also are the xdr rams swapable i have a for parts mpx-001 board can i salvage xdr chip from it if one of the Kte-001 is failed.

XDR Ram in KTE-001 = X1032BASE-3CA2-F
XDR Ram in MPX-001 = X1032BBBG-3C-F

When i made that table in wiki it was not clear in the product sheet decoder because the "2 characters code" for the package (SE or BG) both was simply mentioned as FBGA

Maybe you can test, check syscon errors if you do it

Hi, i don't know anybody have seen the same issue but. I soldered jumpers right, connected the wires to the ftdi programmer, installed required drivers for ftdi chip. I used sysconreader program to easily look through error codes on my ps3. When i launch the program, a message box appears including: "Failed to communicate to COM". When i try to Auth. It gives "program error" or "Auth1 invalid or smth". How can i solve this issue. My ps3 is CECH-C04 with COK-002 mobo.

take the thermal off the board that should work but it does fan will be in overdrive and temperature will record maximum high regardless of actual rsx temp and thermal compound discuss with experts first.
