PS3 HELP WITH MY PS3

So basically, i had installed 4.91.2 evilnat PEX on a ps3 SLIM with 500Gbs.
i had to replace the HDD (because the main one was Broken)
i'm stuck on the black screen, asking for update and i can't update it it's not recognizing the usb
and it has the correct estructure.

it's the ps3 dead? i have done something wrong when i swapped the HDD?

i have tried already with 3 usbs.

i'm trying to install OFW 4.91.
i had tried to install also evilnat 4.91.2 (PEX)

the black screen is asking for an update 2.70. or later
it's not recognizing the usbs.
 
You can try:
1- Swapping back the old HDD if you still have it
2- Try formatting again the USB pendrive. Make sure it's FAT32 MBR. The files and folder names should be in uppercase. Plug it in USB0 which is the port closer to the Bluray drive.
If USB0 doesn't work, try plugging the pendrive in the other port (USB1).
3- Try copying the PS3UPDAT.PUP to a CD or DVD in the following paths:
  • /PS3_UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
  • /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
  • /XXX_UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
  • /XXX/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
The first 2 paths are the ones used by the official emer_init.self in CoreOS.
The last 2 paths are modified in the emer_init.self of Evilnat to prevent accidental downgrade when a PS3 bluray disc is inserted.

Being that it is asking for 2.70, your system may be converted to DEX.

Try the evilnat dpex pup.

a combination of @esc0rtd3w 's and @aldostools posts will probably work. you may be on dex if it's asking for the minimum firmware, and since you're on evilnat already, you may have to use the latter two locations for an update as outlined by aldo (the ones with XXX). it's meant as a safety precaution in the emer_init.self (the recovery menu file) to force the system to look in a different location. the method is pretty much the same as how the 360's dashlaunch looks for system updates in $$ystemUpdate instead of $SystemUpdate, if you have block updates enabled, so changing it to that new name will allow the update to be picked up, on either system. I hope that didn't confuse you.
 
Hello guys, thanks to @esc0rt3dw his solution did work for me. i had to install 4.91.2 d-pex it's installing as we speak <3 thank you!!

now i can't install any type of .pkg. like webman. any idea of how to overcome this?

now i can install pkgs.. but when i launch webman. it just gets blackscreen. and it's not working.. idk what's wrong here.

well i did try this. it's semi-bricked. it does 5 beeps. then goes out and turn off. i recall have seen a video about to save the ps3 when this happens. i tried to downgrade with qa flags on. to 4.80. i couldn't because it was on DEX, then i proceed to convert it to CEX. and when it finished. on the reboot. i didn't work out.
