Does this occurs every time? I also intermittently experienced this issue when activating, but when once I successfully enabled HEN, I just installed the latest Webman MOD and solved this issue. Sorry for my bad english

I tried it 5 times and it failed and frozen at the same point all the time. And I stopped trying and waiting the someone may help me :)

Can you reinstall the HFW and kindly check its MD5 if its matched with the download site's information? As well as use the alternate installer for HEN.
 
I have installed Original 4.90 first and HFW again afterwards, Activated HEN with Auto in this case not the Alterne option and worked fine.

I want to install HFW 4.90.1 but the XMB doesn't work, and I've already tried safe mode with no more success, I've already tried changing the USB disk. I'm on an ultra-slim PS3: CECH - 40XX (I don't know anything about it, so to migrate from 4.89.1 to 4.90 I uninstalled the whole HEN and then reinstalled it).

This is probably a dumb question, but after I´ve downloaded, I´ve decided to check the MD5 and they don´t match.

MD5 : 5eaef6cf25b6c319228de713b270e464 is the one listed and 0922ec2f3888997506cd388537f7b6c7 is the one I´m getting it.

I´ve tried different browsers and it stays 0922ec2f3888997506cd388537f7b6c7?

What am I doing wrong?

Not a dumb question at all.
You're checking the md5 of the zip & the one posted is for the PS3UPDAT.PUP in PS3/UPDATE that's in the zip.
 
I have PS3 super slim 30xx, after accidentally update PS3 firmware to 4.90, my HEN lost. I update HFW 4.90.1 using safemode and ENABLE HEN button appear, however XMB menu package manager gone. I can't install Webman mod, etc... How can I solve this?
 
I thought 4.90 firmware was supported!! Everywhere that shit says "4.90 and below, Now supports 4.90!" I guess they're all bloody lying because now I can't figure out how to roll back this thing! If you couldn't tell, this is my first time getting into ps3 modding, and after a day, I'm already quite tired with it. I buy a ps3 just for this only to find out I get the one model ps3 slim that isn't exploitable…
Made an account for this and everything. I guess in my case OH, WELL. ANOTHER $120 DOWN THE GUTTER.

All PS3 models are exploitable using HFW 4.90 (Hybrid Firmware 4.90) + HEN 3.2.2

HEN is not compatible with Official Firmware 4.90. You must install HFW 4.90 to be able to install HEN.
If you're already on OFW 4.90, you may need to install HFW 4.90 through recovery menu

Here is a video tutorial for HEN installation.

If you're looking to install Custom Firmware, only all phat models, all slim models 20xx & 21xx and certain slim models 25xx are CFW compatible. You need to use bgtools or minchkpup to verify if you console allows firmware 3.56 or lower. If the minimum firmware is 3.60 or higher, you must install HEN.
 
Yeah, I've got a 3000 model. Thanks for the info, bc from what I've been seeing hen is supported on the latest firmware but now I know for sure it's not. (More than likely a misunderstanding on my part) I'll take a look at this later, had to take a short hiatus from modding. Again, I appreciate the informative response.

hey what to do when I have hen 4.90 installed and when I turn on hen enabler and it won't load it loops to the browser before and I don't have webman my model is ps3 super slim

You should install HFW 4.90 only if you plan to install HEN, These files are restored automatically by HEN installer.

That list is intended for the developers working on HEN payload.

If you reinstall OFW, these files are also restored. But you won't be able to use HEN payload.

Have problem installing HFW. Bought console with ancient OFW 4.8[3-6] version and updated to 4.90 OFW. At first, PS3 did not detect USB drive in XMB mode. Switched to Recovery mode, it detected HFW correctly. However right at 60% in installation phase it jumps to 100 and after login in I dont see any visible indication that new FW has been installed (System Info stays the same as for OFW). Repeated installations 2 more times via recovery and XMB, same result. Saw similar issues mentioned here. Please advice on next steps.

Go to system information if it says 4.90 your hfw has been installed, the system will not indicate anything, HFW=OFW with old webkit and some old extra files
 
Good day, I have a Japanese 60Gb backwards compatible PS3 (MO: CECHA00) updated to official firmware 4.90. I'm trying to install CFW but every time I insert the USB stick and try to install the update, it says that the file cannot be found. I have formatted the USB to FAT32 and dragged over the PS3 folder as per instructions. I have also tried the Safe mode way but whenever I install the CFW this way after the restart the system goes back to the original PS3 4.90 official firmware.

The USB stick I'm using is a 16GB Microcenter brand but I have also tired a 16GB Sandisk. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
