PS3HEN HOW TO BYPASS 4.90 FIRMWARE UPDATE AND GO ONLINE

Hello everyone,

I will show you how to go online without the need of updating to 4.89

Please note that this might not be safe as you need HEN enabled the whole time.

NOTE FOR HEN USERS:
DON'T DELETE SYSCALLS, IT WILL NOT WORK!

NOTE FOR CFW USERS:
You have to use SEN Enabler in order to get online!

With that being said, you only need one file and you can go online!

You must have Multiman *AND WEBMAN* & a FAT32 USB or FileZilla. Lean how to install Multiman & Webman on HEN here

Steps:
1.Move this file (Download here) to the root of your USB.
2.Copy the above file in the root of dev_hdd0 or with other words in this path => /dev_hdd0
3.Close Multiman
4.Go online

Well, since you brought that up, if anyone wants without HEN enabled (or webMAN enabled or whatever), and by the way working on pure OFW or HAN too, just use the PS3 Proxy GUI PC program or the PS3 Proxy Server for Android app (both are here on PSX-Place).

But if you want HEN enabled, webMAN will do just fine.

Hi! I copied the file to /dev_hdd0 using ftp, but it is not working. Am i forgetting something?

Ok, i found it, you need wMM. I will try with it installed.

Haha dont worry, for CFW it probably doesnt work from what I heard from multiple users...You will have to wait for SEN Enabler to get updated or use a proxy to get online

The md5 makes sure you download it properly
And listing whats in the file so everyone knows what's inside.

So, been having trouble. I have JP PSN account on PS3 Slim running HFW v4.86.1.

After turning on the console, I enabled HEN, ran mmcm, placed the .txt file in the root of /dev_hdd0, quit mmcm, and tried signing into PSN on the XMB. The standard "you need to update" message appears, and decline.

Are there certain settings in mmcm, HEN, or HFW that need to be enabled for this to work on my console?

If anyone else is having success, could you share your console settings?

FYI: I have my internet DNS settings on the PS3 set for The Archstones (Demon's Souls Private Server)

Hello my friend,
Apparently nothing is wrong with your setup!

But I missed a very serious requirement and that is webman, If you dont have webman this will not work!
Sorry for causing you so much trouble but you only have to install webman and youll be good to go

I saw ur video on Youtube btw, anyways, it doesnt work, i copied the txt file to dev_hdd0 and tried to go online, it doesnt work.

Nvm i just dont have Webman lol, even though, is webman good? it seems risky to download it cuz i am used to multiman

webMAN MOD is one of the best PS3 homebrews available, and what I always use to play my backups. I don't see why it should be risky, because in no way is it. multiMAN is totally different but still has its own merits as well.

I can strongly recommend webMAN MOD to anyone on CFW or HEN:

You shouldnt have any problems with webman! Its optimized for HEN and for me, it worked perfectly throughout the time I had it installed.

Alright, so apparently i downloaded WebMAN and it works. Thanks for this it's amazing
