Maybe some of you did saw that I posted recently a new member post. Well, I have a problem regarding the installation of the 4.89.1 Hybrid Firmware for PlayStation 3. I currently have a Super Slim model with 500GB and I wanted to revive it with a new controller and some games, however, when I loaded the hybrid firmware on the USB (a 32GB Kingstone USB 3.0 USB pendrive) and then conected it to my PS3, I've gone to the update section on Settings tab and when I selected "Update from a external device" or something I got an error, it said that it won't detect the firmware. HOWEVER, it was able to detect the 4.88.1 firmware which I can't install because the PS3 Super Slim cannot be downgraded in any way possible. I tried everything to get this to work:
- Format my USB drive to FAT32
- Used Rufus to format it
- Entering recovery mode (realized I need an original controller)
- Using a different device (1TB HDD, same results)
I tried anything I could possibly do, so if someone has a fix to this problem, please tell me in the comments
